Can I Use Sugar-Free Jello in this Recipe?
Yes! Just sub in your sugar-free variety for the conventional stuff and follow the same directions. Note that the sugar-free gelatin mixture might have a slightly different texture and/or taste, but if you’re looking to cut down on sugar that’s a great trade off to make!
Can I Use Whipped Cream Instead of Cool Whip Whipped Topping?
Whipped cream is already the topping of choice for this delicious dessert, but if you’d like to use it in place of the Cool Whip in the mixture that’s fine too! You might need to add a little extra since it doesn’t always hold up as well as Cool Whip, so it may deflate a little when mixed in with the Jello. If that happens, just add a little bit more whipped cream at a time until you reach the consistency you’re going for. You can even use homemade whipped cream if that’s your speed!
How Long Do the Jello Pie Jars Need to Chill in the Refrigerator?
When this recipe is fully done being made, the jars will need to chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours. That said, there’s a step in the process that also requires refridgeration for about 1- 1 1/2 hours so you’ll need to factor that time in as well. Luckily, these jars can definitely be made in advance so you aren’t spending your whole day on Easter prepping them!

Can I Make the No Bake Jello Pie Jars Ahead of Time?
Yes! These are actually the perfect dessert to make-ahead, whether you’re planning to bring them to an Easter party or serve them after your egg hunt! To prepare these ahead of time, follow the directions up to the point of putting them in the jars. The only bits you’ll want to wait for are the toppings- whipped cream, sprinkles, and Peeps. Those should be placed on top just before serving- you’re definitely going to want fresh whipped cream and a Peeps that isn’t stale!
Can I Use Plastic Jars Instead of Mason Jars?
If you’re serving these to kids, you might hesitate to serve them in glass jars and I totally get it! The good news is that serving them in plastic jars is a great option. I would definitely suggest making sure you use similarly sized jars {or go with small ones for kid-sized portions!} and make sure if you’re going to be making them ahead of time they have a tight fitting lid to keep them sealed in the fridge.
Can I Add Fresh Fruit to the Jello Pie Jars?
Definitely! Adding fruit, either fresh fruit like fresh berries or even pie filling, can be a great way to add some extra flavor, texture, and of course nutrition. Some recommended fruits for this recipe include fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or even mandarin oranges. To add the fruit in, just layer in between the different colors of gelatin as you add them to the jars!
Can I Add Graham Crackers to the Jello Pie Dessert?
Yes, and it’d be delicious! They’d add a homemade graham cracker crust texture to the dessert and make it even more like a traditional pie. Your best bet would be to crush some graham crackers into crumbs, either by hand in a sealed plastic bag or with a food processor, and layer the graham cracker crumbs in between the gelatin layers. This can be done whether or not you’re including fresh fruit or pie filling to make it like your own crust sprinkled throughout.

How Do I Store Leftover Jello Pie Jars?
If you have leftovers {unlikely- this is so delicious!} you can store them in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Cover the jars with their lids or with some plastic wrap and store them in the fridge. Make sure you don’t keep these out at room temperature for more than 2 hours- if you have, it’s better to whip up a fresh batch.
