Hi! I’m Shell, and I’m {Not Quite} Susie Homemaker. I am a 30-something mom to two adorable and exhausting little boys and wife to a handsome and sarcastic husband. I spent my childhood obsessing over the Spice Girls and making sure my Nano Baby was fed properly, so I never really learned how to cook or clean until I had to. It’s amazing we’ve all survived this long with me running this household, but luckily with practice I’ve figured a few things out.
Over the 13 years that I’ve been a mother- and a blogger- I’ve learned a lot of really great things. I discovered a love of cooking and have really enjoyed bringing new recipes to this site. I also love to write about those that I love- my two boys, Shane and Zac and my husband Justin. I also share products that make life easier and everything that makes life fun- entertainment, style, beauty, crafts, travel, holiday inspiration, and DIY.
About {Not Quite} Susie Homemaker:
Over the last 13 years, I’ve had the honor of attending several events, including trips to the red carpet premieres for movies like Pixar’s Coco and Solo: A Star Wars Story and to Toyota headquarters in Torrance, CA and Nintendo HQ in Seattle. I even got to meet the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid and the stars of Beverly Hills Chihuahua- which was a huge moment for this dog lover! {I also accidentally photobombed Winona Ryder.} In the last couple of years, I’ve met my hero Emma Watson, gone to San Diego to discover #TheNewKia {where I did live band karaoke!}, checked the D23 Expo off my bucket list, and walked the red carpet for Pixar’s Coco– in addition to all the traveling my family has done for fun.
I have a suitcase that’s never fully unpacked- I’m always ready to go on the next adventure!
I’ve had long term partnerships with some of my favorite brands, including Disney, Maytag, Let’s Play, YesVideo, LifeLock, LeapFrog, Toyota, T-Mobile, and several others.
I’ve been featured on local news segments, in Homespun magazine, and online on sites like Daily Buzz Moms, Bliss by Glam, Tend by Glam, and even Mashable! I’ve also co-hosted a handful of Twitter parties. {If my kindergarten teacher knew that I was getting paid to talk, she might have thought twice about calling me “chatty” on my report card.}
I’ve had the pleasure of writing articles for Let’s Play, YesVideo, My Life Scoop, Home Made Simple, and Collective Bias, and have been featured in a couple of eBooks- though my favorite place to publish is right here.
About the Family:
I’m married to Justin, who happens to be my high school sweetheart. We started dating when I was a sophomore in high school have been together ever since. He hates getting photos taken, which is why our most recent family photos are from Christmas and it’s currently 110 degrees outside.
Shane is 13 years old and about to head to high school. He loves playing video games {especially Super Mario Maker 2, Roblox, Minecraft, and Pokémon}, dabbles in piano and is a great big brother. His favorite color is blue, and he likes approximately three and a half foods which are all covered in cheese.
Zac is nine and is my wild one! He has the kind of spark in him that lights up a room and I know he’s destined to be a star one day. He eats anything & everything and thinks his big brother is the coolest. He’s also starting to develop an interest in music, which is good because I’m already planning our future karaoke duets. He’s also currently obsessed with rainbows and unicorns- and of course, Animal Crossing. He is currently in third grade.
