I have always loved throwing parties and get-togethers. Planning events like that just sparks the creative part of my mind and I always love coming up with themes, including decorating, events, and menus.
Summer parties are some of the most fun- there’s a reason my Backyard Beach Party post is still popular year after year! The only thing that I don’t love about summer parties? Having to cook a bunch of food in the heat!
That’s why I’ve quickly figured out some go-to menu items for any summer get-together, whether it be a BBQ, picnic, or indoor party. And since I always love a good dip at any party, this Cold Crab Dip is PERFECT for summer bashes!

This recipe uses quite a few ingredients but comes together in just two easy steps- without having to turn on the oven. It’s easy to prepare in advance since it’s served cold {just don’t make it too far in advance so it stays fresh!} and it’s a total crowd pleaser. Read on to find out how to make and serve it!
What do you eat with crab dip?
Cold Crab Dip is best with crackers, especially salty ones like saltines or butter crackers. This dip is also great with veggies or even chips, but crackers are the best dipper for this one in my opinion.
Party Planning Tip: Lay out a variety of crackers to choose from so that guests can customize their perfect bites- and it looks really cute all laid out!

How long does cold crab dip last in the fridge?
This dip lasts in the fridge for up to 5 days when stored in an airtight container. It needs to be made at least one hour in advance but since it’s refrigerated, this is a great dish to make the day before the party to give yourself some extra time on the day of!
What if my cold crab dip is runny?
This can happen sometimes when using crab- it just means it didn’t get fully drained. No worries, just add a little bit of cream cheese at a time, stirring well each time you add more to check the consistency. When it’s what you like, you’re golden.
