It’s amazing how many different ways you can eat the same food. I must have made chicken breasts over fifty different ways by now! One ingredient that is incredibly versatile and served in many different ways is Hormel Chili.
Hormel has developed the #HormelChiliNation, which shares a different way to share chili- one popular way in each state, for a total of 50 ways! {You can look up your state here- go ahead, I’ll wait!}
I live in Nevada and while I had never heard of the cotija cheese that it mentioned, it also said that we enjoy our chili with sour cream and corn tortilla chips and that was right on the money! All this talk of chili was making me hungry, so I decided to make my own dip recipe that represented my state!
Ingredients:
-1 can Hormel Chili No Beans
-1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
-1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
-1/4 cup diced red onions
-1/4 cup diced tomatoes
-Fresh cilantro to taste
Directions:
1. Layer the Hormel Chili in a microwave safe casserole dish. {I used this one.}
2. Sprinkle the cheese on top and place in the microwave for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and chili is warm.
3. Layer shredded lettuce, onions, and tomatoes on top and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
4. Enjoy with your favorite tortilla chips!
This dip is perfect for picnics, backyard BBQ’s, and just random summer fun. If you’re feeling inspired- whether you’re making my recipe or something closer to what’s popular in your state- don’t miss this coupon for Hormel chili!
