Day Out With Thomas 2013

This past weekend, we had a fun family day out when we went to Day Out With Thomas at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City! We went last year & it was so much fun that I even included it in my Top 12 Moments of 2012 round-up as my favorite moment in April! Since we all loved it so much, we knew we couldn’t miss it this year!

When we got there, we picked up our tickets & got in line for our train ride! Shane & Daddy took a minute to get a picture with Thomas first. Note that Shane’s everyday shoes are Thomas- you could say he’s a fan!

Once we got on the train, Shane couldn’t wait to start! {We may have kept him busy by taking pictures.}

The ride was approximately 25 minutes long &Shane loved it. He kept looking for animals, but we saw a few holes that are probably homes to bunnies {or rattlesnakes} so that was good enough for him.

After our ride, there was still so much to do! First we stopped at the Imagination Station, where Shane used Thomas stamps to make a few pictures and got two tats! {It’s almost a week later & he still won’t let me wash them off.}

He also played trains! Outside, they had some fun carnival style games set up, like a bean bag toss and mini golf. Shane loved the bean bag toss! Last year when we went it was super cold out so we skipped this part, so I’m glad Shane enjoyed it this year.

They had a “mini train” {a steamer} that we went on before leaving as well, and we topped off the afternoon with an ice cream sandwich from the ice cream truck and even two new train friends from the gift shop.

The event is still being held this weekend, the 13th & 14th, from 9 am through 3:45pm.     • Yeah, last year when we went he only kinda sorta liked them a little bit, but riding on Thomas changed everything & he became obsessed!
