One of the best things about the holidays is the magic of it all. I still have a hard time falling asleep the night before Christmas because I’m so excited- it’s just that now I’m excited to give the presents instead of receiving them!

Christmas came a little early for Zac this year and he already got a Magic Mixie to play with. While we’re fully in the holiday magic, he’s also been experimenting with an entirely different type of magic by playing with his Magic Mixies Crystal Ball!

Are Magic Mixies surprise unboxing toys?
Yes, but also so much more! Zac has always been a fan of “surprise toys”, where you don’t know which version of something you have until you’ve unboxed it. These toys have that surprise element for sure but the reveal is the COOLEST one I’ve ever seen!
When you buy your Magic Mixies Crystal Ball, you can choose from a blue or pink Crystal Ball. Other than that, you won’t know what’s inside- your Mixie is a mystery!
How do you reveal your Magic Mixie?
Magic Mixies are revealed by performing a magic spell with the included interactive wand. Before you start, you’ll attend “wand school” by watching a video or reading the included booklet to learn how to perform special actions with the wand. Once you’ve mastered the wand movements, you’re ready to bring your Magic Mixie to life!
When you begin the spell, your crystal ball will fill with real magical mist {which smells amazing by the way} and you’ll get your Magic Mixie ready to be your friend by giving it it’s voice and color and teaching it how to tell fortunes. Then say the magic words- “Magicus Mixus”- and the mist will clear to reveal your Mixie!
What do you do with your Magic Mixie after it’s revealed?
The one thing I don’t like about many other surprise toys is that once the toy is revealed, the fun is over. That is NOT the case with Magic Mixies!
Magic Mixies can interact in so many ways- over 80, to be exact. Your Mixie can tell your fortune, play games, and even get tickled {one of Zac’s favorite things}.
Using the magic wand brings your Mixie to life, and there are so many ways to play with your Mixie!
How does a Magic Mixie tell fortunes?
Hold your Mixies belly to activate fortune telling mode and your Mixie will say “Magicus Fortunus!” Then ask your Mixie a yes or no question and check out what color it’s belly is! If it’s green, your fortune will come true, if it’s red, it won’t, and if it’s yellow, your Mixie isn’t sure.
What else can your Magic Mixie do?
In addition to telling fortunes and tickling, your Magic Mixie can play games and cast spells! There are seven different spell types to master!
What can you do with the crystal ball after the reveal?
Another thing that I love about this toy is that even the crystal ball can be reused. You can do the Magic Mixie reveal over & over- or even use the crystal ball to reveal your own toy! This would be a fun way for kids to amaze their friends! So far our crystal ball still creates magical mist even though Zac has used it many times, but when you run out they do sell a refill pack that creates mist over 80 times for $9.99!
That’s not the only way to use the Crystal Ball, either. In fact one of our favorite things about this set is that the crystal ball has a night light mode! You can set it to night light mode and use your wand to choose the color of it. It stays lit up for 30 minutes and then turns itself off so it doesn’t waste batteries. Zac has been using the crystal ball to fall asleep since he got it {and snuggling with his Magic Mixie, of course} and he’s actually been looking forward to going to bed so he can use his magic wand to change the night light color each night!
How much does the Magic Mixies Magical Crystal Ball cost?
The MSRP is $76.99 but I’ve been seeing lots of great deals on it for the holidays! Even at full price this toy is worth it, it’s really high quality and has a lot of replayability. Between being able to repeat the reveal, 80+ interactions with the Magic Mixie, and the multitude of ways to use the Crystal Ball, this toy is definitely worth picking up!
What age is Magic Mixies for?
Magic Mixies Crystal Balls are geared toward ages 5 and up. Younger kids might need a grown up’s help to cast their magical revealing spell!
