Summer break just hit the halfway point around here and it’s starting to show. Shane was so excited to spend the summer at home relaxing, but after six weeks without school his new favorite phrase is “I’m bored.”
I’ve been making sure to do all kinds of fun things with him, and we have some travel coming up, but there are still six weeks left of summer and I’m having to get more and more creative to keep him busy and having fun!
Our latest adventure included playing Shaving Cream Twister in the backyard. It was so much fun for all of us and so easy to set up: all you do is get the game board out in the backyard, spray shaving cream onto each spot, and play!
Check out how our game of Shaving Cream Twister played out, and if you’re looking for summer boredom busters, be sure to check out my post on LetsPlay.com! Over there, I’m sharing 7 ways to keep kids entertained and moving at home all summer long.
Every time someone had to make a move, there were so many giggles from everyone as we saw the shaving cream squish between their toes and fingers. It was slimy and silly and incredibly slippery! It added so many laughs to an already funny game.
Of course, when Shane and I both fell at the same time, we got covered even more in shaving cream. At that point, there was no other option- we had to have a shaving cream fight!
After the shaving cream fight, we were a mess. Rather than trying to navigate our way through the house covered in shaving cream, we hosed off in the backyard- which, in turn, became a water fight. {In case you’re wondering, Shane lost.}
Shaving Cream Twister took just a couple of minutes to set up and led to over an hour of fun family time. I heard a lot of laughs while we played, and not a single “I’m bored”!
