With a baby at home, it’s hard enough to schedule a haircut every four months, let alone an actual spa day. Instead, I’ve been taking another route with DIY Spa Scrubs! I shared a recipe for a Sugar Cookie Scrub a few months back, and now I have one for the chocolate lovers!
Don’t forget, Mother’s Day & Teacher Appreciation Week are right around the corner- better make a double batch!
Homemade Chocolate Body Scrub
Ingredients:
1 Cup Coconut Oil
½ Cup Brown Sugar
¼ Cup Cocoa Powder
Four 4 oz. Jelly Jars
Directions:

1. In a medium bowl, combine the coconut oil, brown sugar and cocoa powder and mix well.
2. Add the scrub to your 4 oz. Jelly jars!
As you can see, the scrub is very easy to make- the hardest part is trying not to eat it! This recipe would be very easy to double {or quadruple!} to give as gifts, sell for a fundraiser, or make ahead for indulgent baths for months to come! Stored in an airtight container, the scrub will last for about 6 months. If there is any separation, just stir the mixture and it’ll be good as new.
Who would you make this for?

Made this yesterday with a few tweaks. I added lots more sugar (a mix of brown, white, and raw) because it seemed too runny and less exfoliant, and added a little more cocoa powder and chocolate essence because I felt like it smelled more like coconut than chocolate. Tasted yummy, felt nice, and left my hands feeling moisturized with a super slight hint of chocolate and coconut smell. Will def make this again! Thank you for the recipe. Giving as Valentine’s Day gifts.

Hi! Thanks for this great idea… One question, can I use almond oil instead of coconut oil? Where I live, coconut oil is really hard to find. Thanks!
Shell says
Hi Vanessa!
I am sure that would work just fine, though you’d definitely have to experiment a little with the amounts to get the right consistency. If you’d rather just stick with coconut oil, they do have it online on sites like Amazon for really good prices! Let me know if you try the almond oil!

So yeah I totally licked the spoon when I made this. Not ashamed! And I added some crushed almonds and pure almond extract to it also. Chocolate almond scrub… smells incredible and will make a great Xmas gift.
