Tailgating with Celebrities at the Red Carpet Premiere of Disney’s Planes! #DisneyPlanesPremiere

On Monday night, I had the amazing chance to attend the Disney’s Planes premiere & tailgate pre-party! It was so much fun- there was so much to do, & so many celebrities to be seen!

When we got to the El Capitan theater, the red carpet was designed to look like an airport runway, complete with air traffic controllers {on stilts, no less}. There were balloons designed to look like Planes, and it didn’t take long to spot our first celebrity as John Lasseter was stepping out of his vehicle right in front of us!

Next up, I walked behind Teri Hatcher, who was posing for the dozens & dozens of photographers on the other side of the gate. {In fact, there are four images of me photobombing her on Getty Images, which is pretty cool.} I took a couple of shots from my perspective, and a few steps later I saw Dave Coulier- or Joey Gladstone from Full House! In my family, that has always been our show- I used to lay on my dad’s chest as an infant & watch it with him. So I was definitely star-struck!

Once I stepped off the red carpet & into the pre-party, there was so much to do! They had cute carnival-style food, including mini burgers, cotton candy, churros & sodas. &They had cute games, too, like a dart toss, a basketball game, and a fishing game where you could win Planes toys! Luckily for Shane, the games were super easy & I was able to get him a couple of great gifts, including a pack of Planes Micro Drifters & a big Dusty Crophopper stuffed animal!

It was so fun seeing stars with their families. So many of them were just having a good time with their kids, being regular parents. I even had a conversation with someone behind me about cheeseburgers- I still don’t know who I was talking to but I found out she was famous when she told someone she’d landed the show she was going for. It was so cool having celebrities mixed in with regular people, since you never knew if you were talking to someone famous! I saw quite a few celebrities inside the party:

After about an hour of snacking, playing, and star-seeing, it was finally time to go inside & catch the premiere of Disney’s Planes! Come back Friday to read my movie review &see what I thought.

  16. Ohh this looks like a ton of fun and you looked awesome… LOVED the pictures but I’m sooo soo jealous.. I can’t wait to see the movie, this is soo exciting. Thanks for sharing and now I’m counting down till I get to go and see it.

  18. what fun! i could have met you – i was invited too but my daughter’s birthday and other commitments kept me home
