Disney covered my travel expenses for the #LittleMermaidEvent & #DisneyPlanesPremiere event. All opinions are my own.
Last month, I met a Superhero! He was brave, and charming, and totally furry. His name was Cooper, and he was one of the stars of the new movie Super Buddies!
Cooper’s trainer introduced him to us {funnily enough, while he’s a boy pup, he most often played Rosebud, who is a girl} & told us a bit about how it works behind the scenes.
Since the Buddies movies star puppies, and not grown dogs, they go through quite a lot of them during filming. Disney gets the pups at just about 8 weeks, which is more or less the age a pup becomes adoptable or arrives at a pet store, so it’s quite young. Then the pups get a 2 week “Buddy boot camp” where they are trained, and they spend about a month working before they retire at just 14 weeks!
It sounds like a short tenure, and it is, but if you’ve ever had a lab puppy you know they don’t stay little for long!
After getting to hear some behind-the-scenes info & petting the softest puppy I’ve ever felt, I was really excited to watch the movie!
About the movie:
An ordinary day at Fernfield Farms turns extraordinary when Budderball, Mudbud, B-Dawg, Buddha and Rosebud discover mysterious rings that grant them each a unique super power. Before you can say, “Buddies, assemble,” the pups unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. But can they succeed in kicking major tail without revealing their new secret identities?
A must-own movie event packed with laughter, action and incredible new characters, ‘SUPER BUDDIES’ proves when you use your wits and work together, you don’t need super powers to be a super hero!
Shane’s thoughts: Shane was totally in love with this movie. Despite the aliens, he actually asked me if it was real or pretend, and when I asked what he thought, he said he wanted it to be real! He thought the Buddies were adorable as always {he’s quite familiar with them & had just watched Spooky Buddies the day before!} and quite funny. I always end up cracking up a lot too so I definitely have to agree with his assessment!
Cooper took a minute to pose with us bloggers! He was great with people, even crowds, though based on his expression in this photo I get the feeling there may have been a “Squirrel!” nearby!
Super Buddies is out on DVD or Blu-ray combo pack TODAY, so be sure to keep an eye out in stores! {&Be sure to enter to win a copy here!} Also make sure to check out these adorable, free printable activity pages!
