New Planes: Fire & Rescue Trailer!

Last summer, Planes was a HUGE hit in our family. I’ve seen it quite a few times- starting at the red carpet premiere, then at the theater with Shane & Justin, and finally when we received it on Blu-ray {&I’ve seen it several times since}. Shane & I are both really excited to see what’s next for Dusty Crophopper this Summer in Planes: Fire & Rescue!

Planes Fire and Rescue

About the movie:

“Planes: Fire & Rescue” is a new comedy-adventure about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire. When world famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting. Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his courageous team, including spirited super scooper Dipper (voice of Julie Bowen), heavy-lift helicopter Windlifter, ex-military transport Cabbie and a lively bunch of brave all-terrain vehicles known as The Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire and Dusty learns what it takes to become a true hero. Directed by Bobs Gannaway (“Secret of the Wings”), “Planes: Fire & Rescue” hits theaters in 3D on July 18, 2014.

Disney’s The Pirate Fairy Review & Tons of Free Printable Activity Sheets!

I’ve always been in love with all things Never Land. Peter Pan managed to combine my two favorite things as a kid: pirates and fairies. I went a little Tinker Bell crazy in high school- I was such a fan that my mom even started calling me Tinker Shell! While I don’t still keep notes on Tinker Bell patterned paper or use a Tinker Bell purse, I do still love Tink & am so thrilled that my son does, too. He has followed in my footsteps & loves anything in the Never Land universe as well- Jake & the Never Land Pirates, Peter Pan, and of course, the Disney Fairies movies!

The latest installment in the Disney Fairies movies is my favorite of the bunch, because once again my two favorites are united in one film. The new movie “The Pirate Fairy” introduces us to a new fairy, Zarina, as she leaves Pixie Hollow to become a pirate captain! She’s a fiery fairy who doesn’t quite follow the rules, so she runs away & goes on her own adventure. Of course, our favorite fairies want to help her and remind her who she really is. But will it be too late?

Zarina is voiced by Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan on Mad Men. The character of Zarina is a perfect fit for her. James, a pirate who turns out to be someone we all know & love to hate, was also perfectly cast and is voiced by Tom Hiddleston. We also get the see the origins of another famous Never Land character!

Shane has already watched this movie quite a few times {giving me a nice break from watching Frozen on repeat} &we both really enjoyed it! It’s always a good sign when a movie can hold a four-year-old’s attention for over an hour straight- he even wanted to watch the credits! You can check out the trailer below:

Celebrate Spring with Winnie the Pooh: Springtime With Roo on Blu-ray & Digital HD!

I received the movie featured to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

Everyone loves Winnie the Pooh, and many of us grew up watching his adventures. Now to celebrate the arrival of Spring, Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo is available on Blu-Ray & Digital HD for the first time ever!

About the movie:

Each year, Rabbit plays Easter Bunny, but this year, he’s decided it’s “Spring Cleaning Day,” and he orders everyone to hop to it: scrubbing, dusting, and mopping. All his pals are disappointed – especially little Roo – until Rabbit learns that putting others first and showing friends how much you care turns every day into a precious gift. Sparkling with unforgettable songs and a never-before-seen bonus treat, this delightful “egg-stravaganza” shows why love, hope and friendship are always in full bloom in the Hundred Acre Wood!

I watched this movie with Shane the other day & he absolutely loved it! We’re big on Winnie the Pooh here anyway, and Shane has been going crazy for Easter since Christmas was over! I asked Shane what his favorite part of the movie was and he said it was when Roo was hunting for Easter eggs- I think that’s just because he’s so excited to do it in a few weeks! My favorite part was basically anytime Eeyore said anything- he just cracks me up.

&Of course, what’s a Winnie the Pooh movie without some fun songs? Get a sneak peek below of one of Tigger’s shining moments:

Buy It: You can find Winnie the Pooh: Springtime with Roo on Blu-ray/Digital combo pack at most mass retailers or online for the MSRP of $29.99 {currently on sale on Amazon for just $18.49}

Get a Behind-the-Scenes Look at the #NeedForSpeed Driving School!

As someone who can’t even parallel park, I’m always fascinated by the crazy driving that I see in action movies. I know a lot of it is done by professional stunt drivers, but not all of it. So how do the actors handle those tough tricks? They go to driving school!

Aaron Paul in Need for Speed

One of my favorite actors, Aaron Paul, recently trained to pull off some cool stunts in the upcoming movie Need for Speed. You can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of it in this video:

About Need for Speed:

The film centers around Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul), a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Maddon (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey’s shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn’t commit, and sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out West.

Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge — but he knows his only chance to take down his rival Dino is to defeat him in the high-stakes race known as De Leon — the Super Bowl of underground racing. However to get there in time, Tobey will have to run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet that includes dodging pursuing cops coast-to-coast as well as contending with a dangerous bounty Dino has put out on his car. With the help of his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

Need for Speed hits theaters everywhere on March 14th! In the meantime, you can follow along for more updates from the movie on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & even Tumblr or on the movie’s website.
