Every week, my whole family looks forward to the weekend. I know, I know, everyone does- but it’s not just because we have a break from school and work. We all look forward to our weekly movie nights, too! Every weekend we go all out for family movie night- we’re talking dinner on the couch, buckets of home-popped popcorn, and of course, our favorite movies.
While we do those all year long, in December we take it up a notch- the whole month is basically one big, long weekend around here! For the ENTIRE month- really, starting at Thanksgiving in November- we have family movie night every night! We save the big treats like popcorn and candy for the weekend still, but we curl up on the couch to eat dinner and watch our favorite holiday movies every single night for the entire month. And it adds a LOT to the cozy holiday magic of this time of year!
Having family movie night every night is a very simple way to make the season special- there’s just one thing that can complicate it. And that’s finding the movies we want to watch!
There’s no shortage of great holiday movies- whether you’re more into the classic claymation specials, the modern classics like Elf {my personal favorite} or even the brand new movies that come out every year, there’s plenty to watch and rewatch. But filling a whole month full of movies means we often have to go searching for movies we don’t own in our personal digital library- and that’s where things get tricky! Or at least they did- before we discovered Stream Safely!
