One of the best things about being a kid was hands down the sleepovers. Staying up late, watching movies, talking about crushes- sleepovers were the best!
One of my favorite things about sleepovers though HAD to be the snacks. Everyone’s house had different delicious snacks and you knew you really got lucky when you ended up at a sleepover with pizza rolls!
Pizza rolls are still very much around and my kids absolutely love them. There was even a recipe using traditional frozen pizza rolls that went viral awhile ago on TikTok!
That said, while I enjoy the old school 90’s pizza rolls sometimes, I also love to make my own in the air fryer. It’s SO easy and they are kind of a combination of pizza rolls and garlic knots- and they’re amazing. They make me want to have a sleepover just to share them with all my friends!
How is this Air Fryer Pizza Rolls recipe different than the TikTok Pizza Rolls hack?
You may have seen the TikTok videos that start with frozen pizza rolls, rolled in garlic butter and topped with parmesan. Those are delicious but are still frozen pizza rolls- these are basically garlic knots with pizza in them!
I promise you these are even MORE delicious than the TikTok version- and barely any more work at all. These rolls are made fresh and since they use crescent rolls, they only take a few minutes.
This recipe does include brushing the rolls with melted butter and sprinkling with garlic powder, so you’ll get most of the same flavors as the viral TikTok air fryer pizza rolls {and this recipe has even more to offer}.
That said, if you really want to try these with parmesan they would absolutely lend themselves well to that! Just sprinkle some parmesan on at the very end along with the garlic powder and dried parsley.
How much time do air fryer pizza rolls take to make?
This recipe is SO fast and easy- both in prep time and cook time. Because it starts with crescent rolls, it only takes a few minutes to get the rolls ready. And since they’re baked in the air fryer, they’re done in just five minutes!
All in all, you should go from ingredients to baked pizza rolls in about 15 minutes or less. Maybe factor in a few minutes for them to cool down, though- if you’ve ever had pizza rolls, you know how hot they can get inside!
The quick cook time and easy prep makes these a great recipe for sleepovers, college study sessions or football parties!
Can you make other kinds of pizza rolls in the air fryer?
This recipe is for Pepperoni Pizza Rolls because with two picky kids, that’s about as fancy as we get. But if you actually like toppings on your pizza, feel free to get creative!
You’ll want to make sure that any ingredients you add to your pizza rolls are precooked- they’ll get heated in the air fryer but things like raw meat wouldn’t get cooked enough in the short cooking time {especially while wrapped up in dough}.
As long as you use precooked meats or things that don’t need to be cooked like cheeses or fruits & veggies, then you’re good! You don’t need to adjust the recipe other than to add your ingredients into the crescent rolls in step 2.
