I love fried foods, but I almost never make them. First of all, they aren’t exactly the healthiest option out there- so it’s definitely better to limit them in the first place.
But the main reason I don’t cook a lot of fried foods is that cooking in a giant pan of hot oil FREAKS ME OUT. Not only do I hate when it splatters and I get little splashes of burning hot oil on me, but it tends to set off my super sensitive fire alarm too {even without smoke} which then terrifies me AND my dog and causes a whole thing.
Plus it makes a huge mess in the kitchen and I am NOT about that.

So when I heard about air fryers earlier this year I knew it was the product I’d always needed. If you’re unfamiliar with air fryers, they let you make foods that have the same crunch and great taste as traditionally fried foods- but because they fry using air, you can use just a small amount of oil. That means the food you’re eating is a lot healthier for you, since it’s not mostly oil.
And since the appliance is totally closed, that means there’s literally no risk of oil splashing you, burning you, or getting all over your stovetop. Talk about a win-win-win-win scenario!
If you don’t already have an air fryer, you can find them on Amazon or at most local stores including Target. This recipe was made using this one, but I also like the brand Cozyna. That said, a lot of them are pretty similar so with holiday sales coming up, keep an eye out for a great deal. Just be sure to check the reviews first!

Now on to the recipe you came here for! If you have ever had Avocado Fries, you know how good they are- crispy and crunchy on the outside but smooth and delicious on the inside. They’re the best of both worlds!
You can have the Avocado Fries without the guilt of fried foods when you use your air fryer- plus I mean, avocados are fruit so this is basically a health food. {Okay maybe not but it’s not bad either!}

Air Fryer Avocado Fries
Ingredients:
• 2 avocados, slightly under ripe will be easier for cuts to retain shape
• ½ cup flour
• 2 eggs, beaten to light and fluffy
• 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
• 1 tsp salt
Additional Items:
• Air Fryer – Keep in mind that the size of your machine will dictate how many batches you’ll need to do! Don’t overcrowd your machine or these won’t crisp.
Instructions:
1. Carefully peel avocado skin away and slice lengthwise into french fry style cuts.
2. Combine panko and salt into one bowl for dredging. Add eggs and flour into separate bowls for dredging as well.
3. Dip avocado slice into the flour, coating evenly, then into the beaten egg, then the panko breadcrumbs.
4. Place coated avocado slice into air fryer in a single layer.
5. Set air fryer at 400° for 5 minutes.
6. Shake and flip over avocado fries. Set timer for 4-5 minutes.
7. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce or eat plain.

Whether you’re making these for a party or just for a delicious snack, they’re sure to be a hit! For more ideas for recipes to make in your air fryer, check out my Air Fryer Recipes Pinterest Board.
