Is there anything that says summer more than a glass of lemonade? As soon as the temperature starts inching up, I make lemonade almost every night. It’s something that my entire family likes, and it really makes it feel like summer!
We don’t always make it from scratch, but I do sometimes- like when I make this Blueberry Lavender Lemonade! Sometimes I even switch it up and make it even more fancy, like with this delicious and super easy Whipped Pink Lemonade Recipe!
We love the texture of whipped drinks around here {like this whipped hot cocoa, or this whipped coffee for the grown-ups!} but this might be my favorite whipped drink of all. The light and airy texture is perfect for hot, sunny summer days and long summer nights.
Since the kids can help make this recipe, it doubles as a fun activity to keep my kids from saying they’re bored every three minutes. {At least for a little bit- it is a pretty easy recipe.} Read on to find out how to make it!
What is the pink in pink lemonade?
Now, strawberry lemonade is one of my favorite drinks in the whole world- so if you’ve had it, you might be wondering if pink lemonade tastes similar. But typically pink lemonade is just pink because of dyes or natural colors added, so it’s not usually a different flavor than traditional lemonade.
If you want to skip the extra dyes or just don’t care about it being pink, you can totally use regular lemonade mix for this recipe. Or you can get fancy and use another flavor if you can find some! But pink lemonade feels a little fancier, which I thought was perfect for this fun drink.
Is this just whipped cream on lemonade?
While adding whipped cream to lemonade sounds like a delicious, simple way to sweeten your lemonade, that’s not what’s going on here. This recipe isn’t all that much harder than that, but it involves basically making your own whipped cream using heavy whipping cream infused with the lemonade mix to give it even more lemonade flavor.
Adding whipped cream to the top just gives you a bunch of whipped cream and some regular lemonade. This recipe gives you lemonade flavored whipped cream that seamlessly transitions into lemonade.
Can the Kids Help?
Kids can ALWAYS help in the kitchen! There isn’t really anything in this recipe that would be too complicated for kids.
The only thing you might need to help a little more with would be whipping the cream and lemonade mix together to create stiff peaks- kids can do this easily enough if you’re using a stand mixer but if you’re using a hand mixer or just doing it by hand, that’ll get tiring for the kids and will become harder as the mixture gets stiffer.
