I am a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe {MCU}- the collective name for all of the Marvel movies and now TV shows from Marvel + Disney. To prepare for my press trip to interview the stars of Captain America: Civil War a few years back I watched all of the movies in one week and have been at every movie on opening weekend since.
When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened two years ago I was excited for a new area of Disneyland, but didn’t care about the theming since I’m not a Star Wars fan. But this? This is what I’ve been waiting for!!

What is Avengers Campus?
In Marvel lore, Avengers Campus is a previously restricted area that Stark Industries used to do research but is now a training area for all heroes to share their knowledge, referred to as the Worldwide Engineering Brigade {WEB}. In fact, a plaque at the entrance to Avengers Campus says:
“Originally, this site was a restricted Stark Industries complex, dedicated to top-secret research.
Now, it’s doors have been opened. It has been remade into Avengers Campus to be a home where Earth’s mightiest heroes can assemble from across time and space to freely share their technology, skills, and knowledge with all.”
Literally speaking, Avengers Campus is a brand new area of Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort. It includes new rides, new food, and new experiences.

When did Avengers Campus open at Disneyland?
Avengers Campus opened at Disneyland on June 4, 2021. There are currently no plans to bring the land to Walt Disney World as currently Marvel characters can not be used at WDW. However, Avengers Campus is slated to come to Disneyland Paris, though the opening date of that has not yet been announced.
Where is Avengers Campus?

Avengers Campus is located at Disney California Adventure Park, in the area that used to be A Bug’s Land. It’s across from Hollywood Land and just before Cars Land. Check out the map above to see how it fits into the park.
Tip: Wandering around DCA and can’t seem to find Avengers Campus? Look for the biggest building- Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! is the rethemed Tower of Terror building and is a part of Avengers Campus.
What old attractions are part of Avengers Campus?

The only attraction that isn’t brand new is the Guadians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! ride, which was rethemed back in 2017. This ride used to be Tower of Terror but was rethemed a few years ago.
The retheming includes a storyline where you help Rocket break the Guardians out, and the building got a big makeover. The queue has a lot of fun stuff to look at that is from The Collector’s, well, collection, and the soundtrack is killer. Also, the ride typically gets a Halloween overlay but we’ll see if that continues in 2021.
This ride was considered a part of Hollywood Land until Avengers Campus opened, but is now a part of Avengers Campus.
What NEW rides are at Avengers Campus?
So far, the only new ride at Avengers Campus is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. This ride is the very first ride at any Disney Park to include Spider-Man, and it has brand new technology, too.

The ride uses gesture detection technology to allow guests to interact with it, allowing you to feel like you’re shooting webs from your wrists. The ride tracks head, hand, and eye movements to make it really seem like you’re part of the action!

The ride does not have a height requirement and can be enjoyed by all members of the family.
Another ride is said to be coming to Avengers Campus, but after the year-long shutdown in 2020 plans may be altered. I will update this post if and when another ride is announced.
Food and Drinks at Avengers Campus
There are plenty of food and drink options at Avengers Campus and they’re all designed to make you feel like you’re part of the MCU! Below, check out some of the highlights:

Pym Test Kitchen
Pym Test Kitchen was inspired by Ant-Man and The Wasp and features plenty of oversized and undersized food and drinks. The restaurant is an experience itself- you can watch a regular sized pretzel go by on a conveyer belt through the quantum tunnel- and then watch it come out super-sized!
The “Pym Particles” change the food- red particles shrink foods, while blue ones grow them. Here are some of the foods you can get:

An enlarged and shareable Quantum Pretzel is served warm with a sharp cheddar-beer sauce.
For more of a meal, guests may opt for the Impossible™ Spoonful, plant-based large and micro meatballs with pasta served in a super-sized spoon with a tiny fork.
The “Pym-ini” is a panini on toasted focaccia with salami, rosemary ham, Provolone and marinara dipping sauce, which can be served by the slice or as a long, multi-portion sandwich for a family or group.
The Not So Little Chicken Sandwich features a delicious fried chicken breast with teriyaki and red chili sauces, pickled cabbage slaw and crispy potato bites.
What goes well with all these items? A glass of Pingo Doce, the distinctly green beverage from Avenger lore that will only be available at Pym Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus.
Guests may fancy the Proton PB&J Punch, a non-alcoholic specialty drink.
Budding young scientists will enjoy experimenting with the classic PB&J Flavor Lab, which features a petri dish filled with peanut butter, jelly and bread that was shrunk by “Pym Particles.” Kids and young lab techs use a wooden spoon to build their own version of a PB&J.
The Mini Pasta & Impossible™ Meat-balls and the Teeny Pym-ini are similar, shrunken-down portions of the adult offerings.
Pym Tasting Lab

Next to Pym’s Test Kitchen, you’ll find the Pym Tasting Lab. This stop features an oversized beer can as adult beverages are available at this location. The Tasting Lab is an outdoor walk-up counter featuring eight craft beers and four beer cocktail options: favorites include The Regulator, a refreshing concoction of wheat ale with mango flavor and a spicy finish, and the Molecular Meltdown, which includes a marshmallow milk stout and vanilla ice cream topped with mini marshmallows.
Also available:
Pym Tasting Lab also offers seasonal hard seltzers and “Snack Molecules”, a warm combination of sweet and savory micro popping grains with mini pretzels, honey-roasted peanuts and sweet & spicy popped sorghum.
Shawarma Palace
The Avengers love for Shawarma was made famous by the end of Avengers, when the heroes stopped in for some food after the Battle of New York. Because they loved Shawarma Palace so much, they invited them to open a food cart at Avengers Campus.
Shawarma Palace, decked out with memorabilia for Avenger fans, offers hand-held savory wraps for heroes on the go. New York’s Tastiest, is filled with fragrant chicken shawarma and garlic spread and coconut yogurt-tahini sauce, served with pickled vegetables. The Impossible™ Victory Falafel is a plant-based falafel wrap served with pickled vegetables.

Terran Treats
The Collector has put together a delicious menu full of “intergalactic eats” at Terran Treats, a food cart now open near Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! You can find snacks like the Sweet Spiral Ration, which are churro spirals with unique colors and flavors, as well as the Cosmic Cream Orb, a crispy cream puff with whipped raspberry cheesecake mousse.
Exclusive merch at Avengers Campus
In addition to the typical merch available throughout the parks like t-shirts, pins, and hats, you can find some pretty unique items at Avengers Campus!

Spider-Bots
Build your own fun & friendly sidekick powered by a remote control withy the customizable Spider-Bots! They can move forward and backward and can connect with other Spider-Bots for epic showdowns and battles with programmed combat and defensive capabilities. Spider-Bots come in a variety of styles, including some inspired by Iron Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, Ant-Man, and The Wasp. {And of course Spider-Man.}

Spider-Bots can be easly carried around all day with the specially made web-mesh backpack, also available at Avengers Campus.
WEB Power Bands

The WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure ride includes wearing 3D glasses, but you can make your experience even better with WEB Power Bands! You can change what powers you use on the ride by powering up with the bands, available at WEB Suppliers. Different bands have different capabilities, like the Iron Man Repulsor Cannons and the Spider-Man WEB Shooters that can shoot electro-dynamic webs on the attraction and at home!

There are other fun items available as well, including exclusive Funko Pop! figurines of Spider-Man and Iron Man, a Spider-Man action figure that interacts with Spider-Bots, and more.

To shop at Avengers Campus, be sure to check out the Disneyland Resort Backlot Premiere Shop featuring Avengers Campus, WEB Supplies, and the Avengers Campus Supply Pod!
What other unique experiences will be at Avengers Campus?
One of the coolest things about Avengers Campus is that you can find your favorite heroes there! Many of the heroes you already know and love are there waiting for you, and word has it that as more Marvel movies come out there will be even more! Check out who is already available to teach you how to be a hero:

Spider-Man
Spider-Man appears throughout the day and gives recruits the chance to witness him swing into action high above Avengers Campus {if you haven’t seen this yet, you NEED to find a video on YouTube- it’s amazing}. After performing his moves, he’ll swing down off the building to say hello.

Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange puts on a show called Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts. At the site of the Ancient Sanctum, Doctor Strange engages guests with illusions, sorcery and tales. He sometimes even brings other heroes as he opens the portals.

Tip: Be sure to visit the Sanctum at night, when it glows with mystic energy.

The Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje
Catch Black Panther’s bodyguards, the Dora Milaje, and learn from them! You can learn wisdom from Wakanda and participate in strength and skill exercises. Okoye leads this training encounter and this is the first time she’s been at the Parks.

Iron Man
Forget Avengers: End Game- Tony Stark is alive and well at Avengers Campus. Here you can interact with him and see him in the new Mark 80 suit, a Disney Parks exclusive.

Black Widow, Black Panther and Captain America
In Black Widow, out next month, Taskmaster is the newest MCU bad guy. At Avengers Campus, you’ll be able to see Taskmaster throughout the day battling with Black Widow, Black Panther, or Captain America!

Ant-Man and The Wasp
The pair will make their first appearance at Disneyland outside of Pym Test Kitchen, where they’ll be checking to make sure everything in the kitchen is going according to plan.

Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel will touch down on Avengers Campus after making sure the universe is safe.

Captain America
Captain America will take some tours of duty throughout Avengers Campus, sometimes on foot and sometimes via the Avengers deployment vehicle. Captain Marvel might even tag along for a ride!
Star-Lord and Gamora
These Guardians will be spotted in Avengers Campus, celebrating their escape from the Collector’s fortress.
