We’re about halfway through summer, and we’ve already had so much fun! We went to Disneyland and we have another fun trip coming up in a few weeks, and in between we’ve been having regular movie nights. One thing that Shane hasn’t been doing enough of this summer? Reading!
Shane has always loved reading, but lately it’s been hard to get him to pick up a book. Now that we’re exactly a month away from school starting again, I decided that it’s time for Shane to get back into the habit of reading regularly. I made him a Book Box, which contains six books that I want him to finish before the summer is over. If he finishes it with time to spare, I’ll buy him the books of his choice to read for the rest of the summer {he’s really digging Captain Underpants right now}.
To try to make it more fun and to make it feel more summery, I printed him these fun Pineapple Bookmarks! You can download them here or by clicking the photo below- print them on cardstock to use them as-is, or use a laminator to keep them in perfect condition. Enjoy!
How do you keep your kids excited about reading? What are your kids currently reading? I’d love suggestions!
