Don’t Miss the Summer of Heroes at Disney California Adventure!

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to go to the D23 Expo. We spent our days learning about everything we have to look forward to in the next few years from Disney- including movies and also the theme parks! After spending time learning about what’s coming to the parks in the coming years, we also had the opportunity to check out what the park already has to offer- including the special event going on now, the Summer of Heroes!

The Summer of Heroes is a big celebration of all things hero taking place at Disney California Adventure. You can find heroes for photo opps, superhero-themed food, new special merchandise and of course the biggest star of the show- the new ride Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT!

The Ride

Earlier this month, Shane and I had the chance to ride Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! We absolutely loved it and we especially loved getting to use the newly updated FastPass system to jump the line! This time when we went, I wanted the chance to get a good look at the queue area and I’m so glad I did! The whole waiting area for the ride is full of amazing items that “The Collector” has collected- things like Cosmo the dog, weapons from Asgard, and even Ultron!

The Heroes

Lots of hero encounters all around the park! Spider-Man and Captain America hang out in Hollywood Land for meet and greets all day, and you may even find Black Widow driving up the street! You’ll also find the Avengers giving lessons in the Avengers Training Initiative and the Guardians dancing to save the galaxy in Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off!

The Food

One of the best parts about any Disney Park is the food- and of course they have special food for the Summer of Heroes! You can find Groot Bread, Spider Bite Donuts, and Groot Sipper cups in Hollywood Land!
