I know what we’re doing this weekend- hitting the drive in movie theater! The highly anticipated & long overdue {seriously, twelve years between visits from Mike & Sulley?} prequel to Monsters, Inc. comes out today, June 21st!
I am always completely fascinated by the work that goes into animated films. I love getting to see concept art & early ideas that may or may not have made it into the movie, since it gives me a chance to see more of my favorite characters! I thought today, in celebration of it opening in theaters, I’d share some artwork from Monsters University:
This reminds me of almost every sleepover I’ve ever been to.
Okay I admit it- I was a total Mike in elementary school. Though I became more of a Sulley over time.
OHEMGEE THE CUTENESS.
Quite different looking than the finished product!
Mike still looks the same, but Sulley looks like he’s been partying a little too hard!
An early look at the campus- spooky!
Meet the Oozma Kappas, or OK’s!
I can’t wait to see how the whole thing came together. Shane & I have already purchased like three different books based on the movie so I already know the gist of what happens, but I can’t wait to see it play out on screen!
About the movie:
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Be sure to check out Monsters University, in theaters TODAY! You can follow the movie on Facebook & Twitter for more! {&Be sure to download the Monsters University Coloring Sheet & Activity Pages!}
