We’re a Disney Jr. family. If Shane’s watching TV, there’s a 95% chance it’s that channel- whether it’s Doc McStuffins, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Gaspard & Lisa, or the new Henry Hugglemonster. One of Shane’s absolute favorite shows is Octonauts, so when we had the chance to review some of the new toys available now at Toys R Us!
We received four toys & I honestly don’t know which is Shane’s favorite.
The Octonauts Octopod Playset comes with several characters {including Captain Barnacles, Kwazii, GUP-A, &sea creatures} as well as some play pieces, including a clip-on Octo-Alert that plays sound! Shane loves acting out scenes from the show {real ones & ones that he’s made up} and plays with this often. I like that you can play on either side of the toy, making it easy to play with him. {$34.99}
The Gup-B Mission Vehicle works on land & in the water, and comes with color-changing creatures, Kwazii, and a rescue tool. Shane loves making Gup-B open his mouth & he uses the set to add to the scenes he recreates with the Octopod. {$14.99}
The Octo-Compass probably gets the most use of all because Shane just walks around pushing the button over & over. He loves making it play sounds from the show & I have to say that I’m impressed by the sound quality- usually toys like that are muffled or sound distorted but this one sounds just like the show. {$12.99}
The Rescue Assortment- Barnacles & Turnip set quickly became Shane’s new favorite bath set. You can use it out of the tub, too, but Turnip is a water-squirter so Shane immediately threw the whole set into the tub. The sea creatures change color in warm water, and Shane’s been using the bathroom sink to try to flood the house play with his creatures even when it’s not bath time. {$9.99}
All of these toys still get played with daily, and Shane always has a new scene to act out after he watches Octonauts!
Buy It: The Octonauts line of toys {which includes these and many others} is available now at Toys R Us.
Be sure to catch Octonauts on Disney Jr. {check your local listings for times} & check the show out on Facebook!
Note: I received the toys mentioned to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.

The Octopod is so cool! We’re a Disney Jr. family too (although we don’t get the channel 🙁 ). I may have to look into getting these. Nick’s just starting to reach the point when he starting to play with those kind of toys.
