Shane is a huge fan of playsets. I love them too- they’re open ended and allow him to allow his imagination to lead his play. That said, as Shane’s getting older, it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to find good playsets for boys.
Recently, however, we received the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle! This giant castle stretches out to over 3 feet of play space- but also folds up almost in half to store {which is something that I very much appreciate}. It has a lot of very cool features that boys love, including areas that completely transform, fun sounds, and tons of great accessories!
Shane has always been into knights & castles, so I knew he’d love this set. It includes the things every good castle needs, like a drawbridge, turrets, even a treasure chest! &Of course, there are plenty of shields, swords, catapults, a cannon, and helmets.
The castle has a lot of interactive parts- the entire castle transforms from a standard looking castle into an eagle {and locks the drawbridge!} when the knight on the top of the castle is put into place & turned. The turrets on either side cause action too, like the opening of windows. &There are a lot of sounds- Shane walks around saying “Protect the Castle!” for hours after playing with it.
The castle is fun by itself, but there are tons of add-ons you can purchase for additional fun. Since receiving the castle, we’ve purchased multiple knights {each of which come with an animal, like a coyote or a lion} and Shane got the Ogre & Dragon for Christmas after asking for them almost daily for two months. The castle truly is fun to play with without even adding anything on, but since adding these items, it’s grown Shane’s storylines exponentially.
With so much to do & such an opporunity to promote creativity, it’s no wonder the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle was on Kmart’s Fab 15 Toys list for the holidays! The big holidays may be over, but if your kiddo received any Christmas cash this year, I can’t recommend this playset enough.
Buy It: You can purchase the Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle from Kmart for $59.99.
Note: I received the product mentioned to facilitate this review. All experiences are authentic & all opinions are my own.

What a fun toy. Our son loved Imaginext toys until he got a little older and Lego’s became the new thing. But I really like the fact that after years of play they were still in good enough shape to pass on.
