I received a copy of this game to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
We are a family that is really big on games. This applies to both video games and board games. We have an overflowing cabinet full of all kinds of board games, and every birthday and Christmas we end up adding several more games.
So when Nintendo recently came out with a game that combined our love of video games with our love of board games, I knew it would be a hit around here!

Can you play Clubhouse Games with people in your house?
One of the coolest things about the game is that you can play with others. You can share one Nintendo Switch to play together, or if you have two or more Switches in your home only one person has to have the actual game. The other players can download the Demo from the eShop for FREE, which comes with a few games they can play whenever but also allows them to join a “Clubhouse” set up by the player with the game. That will allow you to play almost all of the games together, using two separate Nintendo Switch systems in the same house.
Can you play Clubhouse Games with people online?
Yes! More than 40 of the games can be played online with a Nintendo Online account. You can play with friends that are online or you can match up with others from around the world.
Can you play Clubhouse Games solo?
For sure. Not only can you play any game against a CPU, but you can change the difficulty level of that opponent as you get more skilled for a bigger challenge!
We recently took turns trying out the game, and here’s what everyone had to say about it:
Zac’s Thoughts {6 years old}
Zac really liked playing Four in a Row and Battle Tanks. He thought it was really easy to use and enjoyed playing against Dad.
My thoughts on gameplay for a six year old: I loved how each game gave instructions on how to play, especially since many kids this age won’t know most of these games {even I didn’t know a lot of them}. Since you can pick the difficulty of the CPU you play against, this is a great way for kids to practice new games- or get better at favorite games- without losing interest from losing over and over.
Zac hasn’t tried every single game yet- there are 51 after all- but he’s really enjoyed playing this game both against a CPU and against us.
Shane’s Thoughts {10 years old}
Shane liked the games, especially Battle Tanks and Checkers. He thought each game did a good job explaining how to play, which was helpful since he was unfamiliar with a lot of them. He thinks it’s a fun way to pass the time with friends since you can play mini games together.
My thoughts on gameplay for a 10 year old: This game is definitely great for a 10 year old, and would also help pass a lot of time while traveling {when traveling becomes a thing again}. This would also be a great way to connect with friends who have Nintendo Online accounts since kids can’t hang out in person right now.
Justin’s Thoughts {Dad}
Justin enjoyed a lot of the games, like Mancala and Four in a Row. For a few of the games, he thought it’d be easier to just play in person- but only if you already have the game, and you’re playing with people in your family. He likes that it opens up the possibility to play with others, especially in these times.
My Thoughts {Mom}
I was very happy with this game and think it would be great to have in a lot of different situations! We have enjoyed playing it together as a family, and we’re trying to talk my in-laws into getting a Nintendo Switch so that we can play online with them, too. I love that I’m learning new games from around the world by playing this game, and my kids are too!
I’m especially glad that I was able to add 51 games to our collection- without needing any extra storage space.
Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics is a great game for any Switch collection. Whether you’re into card games, board games, strategy games, or just hitting your siblings with toy robots, this is the game for you.
