Do you have a Scout Elf? Scout Elves are elves from the North Pole that come to visit every year around Christmas and help bring a little extra holiday spirit to families. Each night they fly back to the North Pole to report to Santa- elves can relay messages from kids {like wishlists!} or even report on developments in the ongoing Naughty vs. Nice rating system.
Every morning, when a Scout Elf returns home, he or she chooses a new spot to relax in after their long journey. Some elves are little troublemakers who like to make messes in their host homes. Some are sweet and thoughtful and bring small gifts or do small acts of kindness. Every elf is unique, just like every family, but they all have one thing in common- they love the kids that they look over!
Our Scout Elves, Red and Blue, come the weekend after Thanksgiving and bring an epic sweets-filled feast for our kiddos {and us!} to enjoy! Their arrival marks the beginning of the holidays, and we look forward to it all year long.
After they’ve come back to us for the year, the boys love looking for them each morning and seeing what they’ve gotten into. Our elves aren’t really mischievous- sometimes they pick a really good hiding spot that makes it hard to find them, but that’s about the extent of their mischief.
One of the things our Scout Elves love to do is bring surprises for our kids- and when a friend shared this idea with me, I knew I had to share it with you. Sometimes, especially as it gets closer to Christmas, Scout Elves begin running out of ideas for things to do when they arrive home in the morning. This DIY Catapult would be such a fun activity for Scout Elves to bring home for their kids!
All it takes is a few supplies and the printable you can grab below. If you want, you can even help your Scout Elf by printing this sheet out for them and making sure you have the necessary supplies.
Kids and parents alike can have fun building these catapults together- and then having a marshmallow fight!
