It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I finally tried Pumpkin Spice- and now I can’t get enough of it! My Pumpkin Spice habit can add up quickly though if I’m not careful, so while I do indulge at the coffee shop sometimes, I supplement that by making my own at home. And when I make them from home, I make more than just lattes- this frappe is a great way to enjoy the taste of fall, even while the weather still thinks it’s summer!
This Frappe is super easy and it’s really quick to throw together- but it does need a little work in advance. You need your coffee to chill overnight and several other ingredients to freeze overnight, so this is one that I’d recommend preparing the night before and grabbing in the morning.
The good news is that since all the prep work is done in the beginning, it makes for a great coffee to enjoy on-the-go- just blend, put it in a to-go cup, and enjoy!
Homemade Pumpkin Spice Frappe
Ingredients:
1 & 1/2 cups cold coffee
1 & 1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
3 Tablespoons pure maple syrup {sugar will work too}
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin spice blend
Whipped cream {optional}
Directions:
1. Brew the coffee. Pour coffee into a large mug and refrigerate for several hours or even overnight- the coffee MUST be very cold.
2. In a small bowl, whisk the milk, pumpkin, maple, and pumpkin spice blend together until combined. Pour into an ice cube tray and allow to freeze.
3. Once coffee is cold and pumpkin ice cubes are frozen, add everything to your blender and blend on high until smooth and icy. Add more milk if your blender isn’t blending it well.
4. Taste the frozen drink and add more sweetener {maple syrup or sugar} or pumpkin spice if needed. Pour into serving glasses or one large serving glass, top with whipped cream, if desired. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
