The leaves are starting to change around here, but it’s still in the 90’s. I’ve had more than enough of this weather for the year- I’m ready for sweater weather! I’m trying to make it feel a little bit more like fall around here by enjoying everything pumpkin, apple, and cinnamon while I wait for the leaves to start falling, starting in the shower.
This Pumpkin Scrub is an easy DIY way to start getting into the fall spirit! It’s easy to make and takes just five ingredients- you may even have them all already!
Pumpkin Body Scrub
Ingredients:
1 cup coconut oil
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup canned pumpkin
2 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
4-5 4 oz. jelly jars {like these ones}
Directions:
1. In a medium sized bowl, combine the coconut oil, brown sugar, canned pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well.
2. Scoop the scrub into your 4 oz. Jelly jars.
This is such a simple recipe which uses things that are likely already in your kitchen. This scrub smells great, and isn’t full of some nasty chemicals that you can’t pronounce. The recipe can also be made smaller or larger depending on how much you would like to make- it’d be great to make for gifts for any upcoming parties, or maybe as a small token for a great teacher! {Or you can totally just keep it all for yourself and daydream about hayrides and pumpkin patches. That’s probably what I’ll be doing!}
When stored in an airtight container, this scrub will last for about 2-3 months. If any separation occurs, simply stir the mixture and it’ll be good as new. Enjoy!
What’s your favorite fall scent?
