Shane is a huge Disney Jr. fan, and one of his absolute favorite shows is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He loves all of the characters & likes to act out episodes with the “guys” {little figures} he inherited from when I was a kid. He has a few Mickey & Minnie games for the iPad and loves them, so when I had the chance to review the new Minnie Mouse Bow-tique Super Surprise Party game for his LeapPad!
In the Minnie’s Bow-tique game, Daisy and the rest of Minnie’s friends are about to throw a surprise party for Minnie! They don’t want her to know though and they try to keep her busy by having her make them bows all day. There are three mini-games to prepare for the party: Ribbon Roundup, Butterfly Bows, and Daisy’s Dressing Room. You can also design bows in the Bow Design Studio and play Hide & Seek with Cuckoo Loca!
Like all LeapFrog games, this game automatically adjusts to your child’s skill level. For example, in the Ribbon Round-Up game, in the lower levels you are asked to tap on ribbons with the same color and pattern. When your child becomes very skilled at this, the game will adjust itself to go up to the next level, where your child will have to tap on ribbons with the same uppercase letter, and the same lowercase letter.
While the game is very educational, it also allows your child to just have fun, too! Shane absolutely loves the bow design studio, where he can pick some ribbon and decorate the bow however he wants. The first time he did this part, he struggled with using the stylus to tie the ribbon into a bow. He practiced just a couple of times & now he’s really good at it- and super, super proud of himself for mastering it {I’m proud, too!}.
The only thing Shane didn’t like about this game? It only let him put like fifteen sparkles onto the bows when he wanted to cover every single inch. Apparently he likes glitter almost as much as his Mommy.
