Homemade Soft Pretzels

Make pretzels using crescent roll dough!

I’m not really great at making dough- I just don’t have the patience. But this dough is made for you and is super easy to work with, so even if you’ve never baked with homemade dough before you’ll be able to tackle this recipe!

Ingredients

– 10 cups water – 1/4 cup baking soda – 8 count can crescent roll dough – 1 egg – 1 tablespoon water – 2 tablespoons butter – 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt

DO I HAVE TO BOIL THESE HOMEMADE SOFT PRETZELS? Yes! I’m sure they’d still be a delicious snack, but boiling pretzels is what causes the pretzel texture. But it only takes a couple of minutes!

HOW CAN YOU KEEP SOFT PRETZELS FRESH? Wrapping soft pretzels in aluminum foil helps keep pretzels fresh, but if you’re making them more than one day in advance freeze them until you’re ready for them.

CAN I MAKE HOMEMADE PRETZEL BITES INSTEAD? Yes! Just skip the steps involving twisting the dough and start checking early for doneness.
