You know what goes with just about everything? Potatoes.
Think about it- most dishes can be made better by the addition of a side of potatoes in some form- whether they’re mashed, fried, or baked.
These are no exception!
WHY ARE THEY CALLED HASSELBACK POTATOES??Apparently the name comes from the restaurant in Sweden that invented the first Hasselback potatoes recipe in the mid-1900's!
IS THERE A TOOL TO CUT HASSELBACK POTATOES?Yes! I don't use it because I like to keep my kitchen clutter down to a minimum and cut these with a regular knife just fine, but my blog post contains a link to buy one if you're so inclined!
WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO CUT HASSELBACK POTATOES?Place the potato on your cutting board, then place skewers or wooden spoons on either side of the potato, lengthwise. Slice through the potato width-wise, and when you get to the skewers or wooden spoons you’ll be forced to stop the cut.
