Caramel Apple Turnovers

SUPER Easy & quick Apple Turnovers!

Whether you want to make these with fresh apples or take a shortcut with the filling {which is what I typically do} and save your fresh picked apples for another recipe, these are still a pretty easy recipe either way.

Ingredients

– 1 package (two sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed – 1 can apple pie filling – 1 egg, beaten – Water – Caramel sauce

WHAT PASTRY IS APPLE TURNOVER MADE OF? Apple turnovers are always made from puff pastry, which is what makes this such an easy recipe- you can just thaw a couple of puff pastry sheets and get to work baking!

CAN I USE FRESH APPLES FOR THIS RECIPE? You can totally opt out of using the apple pie filling and instead use real apples! You can use any variety but I’d recommend a sweet one, like Fiji or Gala. If you like things a little less sweet Granny Smith Apples are fine!

WHY IS IT CALLED AN APPLE TURNOVER? The name simply comes from needing to turn the pastry over the filling to close it!

These are a great way to get the taste of caramel apples without breaking your teeth, and they’re a perfect snack for little hands!
