This post is brought to you by Babbleboxx. All opinions are my own.
Bella Notte is now fourteen years old, and aside from a missing spleen and a few lumps and bumps, she’s doing great. She still welcomes everyone who enters our house with a hug {on her hind legs, against her better judgement} and while she can’t hear the doorbell as well anymore, she still stands guard at the front window to see what’s going on in the neighborhood.
If you have a dog, you know how overwhelming it can be trying to figure out the best dog food, best dog toys and best, well, everything when it comes to your furry friend. I’m always trying new things with Bella to keep her mind engaged, but in doing so I’ve definitely wasted a lot of money on things that have turned out to be duds.
I was recently sent a package {well, Bella was!} filled with some of the latest & greatest dog finds that I put to the test with Bella so we could let you know what’s actually worth a wag- and what’s worth a walk away. {Spoiler: everything in this box was a huge hit with Bella!}
ACANA Dog Food
Bella’s always happy to clean up the kitchen floor after I cook dinner, but you know what she hasn’t been into lately? Her dog food. She’s been bored of her usual flavors so she was very welcoming to the new kinds she got to try from this package!
ACANA dog food is raw nutrition made simple- something I would have loved 14 years ago when she ate a raw diet and it was anything but easy! These foods are a great balance of fruit and vegetables and protein-rich animal ingredients then infused with bone broth, so they cover everything your dog needs.
The ACANA dog food comes as patties or morsels, and either one can be used as a food or as meal toppers. They’re made with ingredients that matter in a Kentucky kitchen, where they are carefully crafted from start to finish! Bella tried both the ACANA Freeze-Dried Morsels Free-Run Chicken Recipe and the ACANA Freeze-Dried Patties High Protein Ranch-Raised Beef Recipe and she was a huge fan of both of them! They are both high protein dog food varieties that will support dogs young and old- and most importantly, Bella loves them.

Pet Wants Dog Treats
Treats have always been a vital part of Bella’s day, and now more than ever as she ages. But since she eats her fair share of treats each day, I always want to make sure she’s eating treats that are good for her.
Pet Wants is redefining fresh in the pet food industry and was founded on the idea of dogs being able to eat nutritious treats full of what they need, not a bunch of fillers or junk. Bella got to try two different fresh dog food treats from them and it’s hard to say which was her favorite!
Pet Wants Wild Caught Freeze-Dried Salmon is made with fresh wild salmon from the Pacific Northwest, and that salmon is the only ingredient! {Tip: these treats are actually great for dogs OR cats!} Since these treats are freeze-dried, they don’t require any special storage even though they’re totally fresh ingredients. Salmon is a great clean source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, which help support the heart, kidneys, and brain as well as reducing inflammation and helping to repair dry, flaky skin. Bella suffers from an itchy coat sometimes so we’re really excited about introducing some salmon into her diet!
Pet Wants Peanutty Cookie Treats are made in-house and packaged in a resealable bag you can take with you anywhere. They’re made with only 5 fresh ingredients, which are not only clean but human grade so they’re even safe for owners to enjoy! These treats are packed with protein, fiber, and iron, which boosts pup’s energy levels and immune systems.

Dog Toy Top Picks from Multipet
I’m sure I’m not the only one who grew up watching Shari Lewis’ Lamp Chop! Now my pup gets to snuggle up with her own Lamb Chop plush dog toy with a squeaker perfect for playtime. It comes in three sizes so we have the one perfect for Bella Notte, but dogs big and small can also find their own perfect pal to keep them engaged and active during playtime or to play gently with, which is more Bella’s speed these days.
On the flip side, the Globken chicken squeak toy is when you’re ready for playtime on the bit more energetic side! Even though at Bella’s age she’s not interested in playing much anymore and usually chooses snuggling with her toys, this chicken totally got her howling- literally. She loves hearing it squeak and will come running from the other room if I grab it! It’s perfect for a game of fetch for dogs who will play that {Bella never did, even in her youth, but this would have been hilarious for it} and comes in lots of different colors to keep dogs- and owners- interested!

Dinovite NubONubs Meal Booster
While Bella doesn’t have to follow it super strictly, and is allowed treats and occasional other foods, her main diet consists of a prescription food to help control her liver enzymes. The problem? She HATES the food. So my go-to solution is to add Meal Boosters!
This new-to-us Meal Booster from Dinovite was a HUGE hit with Bella, and she prefers it to any of the varieties we’ve tried! It’s Freeze-Dried Raw Beef that adds protein to every meal, and it’s loaded with vitamins and minerals to keep her healthy. It’s so easy to serve it- just sprinkle it over your pup’s food and that’s it!
