The other day, I pulled out all of my harvest fall decor- and then put most of it back. This year, I’m feeling an early start on Halloween instead! There’s always time for the leaves and turkeys to go up in November- the trees around here don’t start actually losing leaves until then anyway. So this year, I’m using both September and October to celebrate Halloween!
Since our Halloween decorations are going to be up for even longer this year, I wanted to make a few fun additions- without spending too much money. These DIY Witches Brew Potion bottles were so easy to make and once I’d designed the labels, they only took a few minutes to assemble. Making the labels was definitely the most time consuming part- but you can get them already made at the bottom of this post! Just keep scrolling for your free download.
To make these fun DIY Witches Brew Potion bottles, I started with these bottles that I got at the craft store for just a few dollars each. I added some 3D stickers- I got both sparkly black spiders and sparkly black bats- and even though they’re stickers, I added a little bit of hot glue to make sure they were secure. {Glass isn’t always the best surface for getting stickers to, well, stick.}
To make these extra fun, I added a “potion”- a drink mixture that foamed when I added ginger ale. You can find this drink mix at Target but of course, the foam only lasts for a few minutes- so you can add in whatever liquid you’d like. {I will say that even when the bubbles calmed down, the leftover liquid was still pretty cool looking!} Water with a little corn syrup or oil and a bit of food coloring works great. I even added some spooky Halloween sprinkles to the mixture, so there are tiny skulls and bones floating around in there. So spooky!
{If you decide to include liquid in these, make sure to empty them and clean your bottle before storing at the end of the season!}
