I don’t know about you, but Halloween went so quickly for us! We went to a fun party during the day and by the time we got home it was time to go trick-or-treating. Zac didn’t want to wear a costume to go trick-or-treating and both kids got tired after a couple of hours, but we managed to accumulate a lot of candy in that amount of time!
Now, we don’t let the kids eat candy all day everyday, but for the week or so after Halloween we do allow them to have a few pieces here and there. After all, they went door to door and dressed up in adorable costumes- they earned it! We have two pumpkins filled to the brim with candy though, so I wanted to get a little creative and mix it up a bit.
Both of my boys love pudding {and I do, too!} so it seemed like the perfect snack to mix-in the candy with! We added a few extras that we had in the pantry {OREOS and Nilla Wafers} and made a truly spooky scene that allowed us to extend Halloween for a few more days while using up some of that leftover candy!
Spooky Graveyard Pudding Cups
Ingredients:
- Super Snack Pack Pudding {any flavor works but chocolate is the most dirt-like!}
- Crushed up OREOS {I used one full cookie with the filling scraped out per pudding cup}
- Nilla Wafers {one per pudding cup}
- Leftover gummy worms or gummy bears {we only got bears in our pumpkin, so we made them zombie bears!}
- Edible marker
- Optional mummy icing decorations
Directions:
1. Open your Snack Pack pudding and “bury” a few gummy worms or gummy bears about 1/3 of the way down. Use a spoon to cover them back up with pudding! For a few of ours, we pressed the gummy bear directly up against the cup to make it a little spookier.
2. Write “RIP” or other spooky sayings on your Nilla Wafers and push into pudding cup, burying it a little bit.
3. Add crushed OREOS for the dirt.
4. Add icing decoration if desired or additional gummy bears to act as zombies!
5. Enjoy!
These Snack Pack pudding cups were super easy to make and made my boys smile! You can even customize them based on whatever leftover Halloween candy you have- I actually added some crushed up Halloween candy to some of our graveyards for an extra yummy snack! I had fun mixing flavor combinations, and I think my favorite was a mix of OREO dirt & peanut butter cup “gravel”.
While I originally made these Snack Pack pudding cups to use up some of our leftover Halloween candy in a fun way, I think I might make them a few times throughout the year to surprise the kiddos. I know they’ll love having a little taste of Halloween anytime! The ingredients for the Snack Pack pudding cups can all be found at Walmart, so it’ll be super easy for me to recreate them whenever I’m feeling a little spooky.
