Shane’s birthday is in just two weeks, and of course he’s already counting down the days! I am too, both because I’m excited for him and because that means I only have 14 days to plan and execute his dream party!
Every year for Shane’s birthday we have two parties: one where he gets to play with his friends at the kid-friendly place of his choice, and other where his grandparents and uncle come over and celebrate over dinner. We already celebrated with his friends earlier this summer, but now it’s time to celebrate with our family!
Even though it’s just a small crowd that comes to dinner for his birthday, we always go all out. Shane loves getting to decorate the house in whatever his favorite theme is that year, and to be honest I have a blast doing it. I scour Pinterest for fun birthday party ideas and use a combination of those ideas and my own to come up with the perfect birthday party for him!
This year, we’ll be hosting a superhero themed party and I’ve already started my planning! I wanted to save a little on the party invitations so I decided to create my own printable ones- you can’t beat free! I left the information blank so that we can reuse them if he’s still into superheroes next year- and so that you can use it, too! {Just click on the image below to enlarge and download or print!}
Planning a party is no small task, and it takes a lot of time and energy. It’s something I love doing, so I don’t mind, but I do have to be careful about how I budget my time! Not having to wait weeks for a custom invitation to come in the mail- or having to run all over town until I find a Shane-approved one- helps me save so much time on party planning.
How will you celebrate your birthday hero?

Sadly, none of those stores are near me. I do love a good sale and hate that I am going to have to miss all of the sales.

We used to have an Albertsons right down the street but not anymore 🙁 I always enjoyed great deals and miss them dearly.

I love picking a theme and going all out with the decorating. The invitations are cute and great that they are free. Albertsons is not far from me, I am going to have to check out all the great deals.

Where did you find the clipart characters and word graphics that you used on your invitations? Your invitation is super cute I just wanted to use some different wording. Please help. Or do you still have access so that I could copy and paste just the graphics into my own document?

Hi Susan,
I got the fonts and the sound effects images from PicMonkey- it’s an online photo editing program where you can also design your own items. For the superhero characters, I used a clipart shop on Etsy- I got this set, but they have several others on Etsy if you want something a little different or like different superheroes! https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1050386347
Thanks for checking out my invites!!
