There is so much to love about winter, but one of the best is the huge drop on your energy bill! Living in Las Vegas where the temperatures are typically above 110 in the summer, we use a lot of energy cooling our home down for most of the year. In the winter, we see a huge drop in our bill and have some extra room in our budget for Christmas presents as a result!
That said, we’re always looking for ways to save energy throughout the year. In addition to saving money, being energy efficient puts less strain on natural resources and reduces emissions that can harm the environment.
While I like to cook and bake, I also really like no-bake treats, which can be just as fun and delicious but don’t take any energy! One of my favorites is the chocolate chip & peanut butter cookie dip, which requires almost no energy from you, either!
Chocolate Chip & Peanut Butter Cookie Dip
Ingredients:
½ C. butter, softened
1/3 C. brown sugar (light or dark)
1 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/3 C. chocolate chips
1/3 C. peanut butter chips
Directions:
In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients- adding the chocolate chips and peanut butter chips last. Place in the fridge to set and try not to eat the whole bowl! Serve with graham crackers or apple slices.

This sounds SO yummy. I’m one of those real cookie dough eaters although it’s recommended that you don’t eat it raw— this is a great alternative!
