A few months ago, Justin told me that he was finally ready to try for another baby. The next day, I picked up an ovulation detection kit, downloaded several fertility apps onto my phone & started obsessively reading about things like basal temperatures & two-week-waits.
When I was at the store looking at ovulation tests, I didn’t hesitate at all to pick up the Clearblue brand because I had experience with them. Back when I found out I was pregnant with Shane, that’s the brand that actually confirmed my pregnancy- I had taken a non-digital test from another brand but the line wasn’t easy to read at all, so I got a pack of Clearblue digital tests. Those were clear as day, and the second the screen gave me my answer I knew my life was about to change forever {in the best way possible}.
It was a scary couple of weeks though, because I had no idea how far along I was. I hadn’t had a cycle in over a year for hormonal reasons so I had nothing to go off of to determine how far along I was- and I worried about how far behind I was on taking prenatals. My doctor couldn’t get me in for a couple of weeks, so I spent a lot of time freaking out & worrying about my little bean.
One of Shane’s ultrasound pictures! {Somewhere in the later months though.}
When we finally got to see the doctor, we learned that I was about 8 weeks along {so I had been about 5 or 6 weeks when I found out I was pregnant} &that the baby that would one day be Shane was doing just fine. He grew into a happy, healthy baby boy, but I still wish that I wouldn’t have spent so much time not knowing. Luckily, there’s a new pregnancy test that not only tells you that you’re pregnant, but can even estimate how far along you are!
The Clearblue Weeks Estimator test, just like other Clearblue tests, is over 99% accurate from the expected period at detecting typical pregnancy hormones. Additionally, it’s about 93% accurate in estimating the amount of weeks since ovulation, making it easier to determine just how far along you are. Figuring out your results is fool-proof, because it’s written out on the display- you’ll either see “Not Pregnant”, “Pregnant 1-2”, “Pregnant 2-3” or “Pregnant 3+”. Due to ease of use & the additional information this test provides, it’s no surprise that it’s the #1 test choice of OB/GYNs!
While it’ll be quite some time before I take another pregnancy test, this is definitely the one I’ll reach for if and when that time comes!
Buy It: You can find the Clearblue Weeks Estimator at CVS.com or your local CVS Pharmacy.

I’m continuously amazed by technology. I heard you can get a test that suppose to predict the sex of your baby. My cousin actually got one and it says she will have a girl. I think she gets to find out the sex of her baby in a couple of weeks, so I’m curious if the test was right.

I saw an ad for this on Facebook. I wanted to run out and get one to see if it’d tell me how far along I was and then saw it only shows 3+ weeks after 3 weeks. Darn!!
Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell says
Now that is a result that’s completely clear. What an improvement.

While I think it’s neat that it measures up to 3+ weeks pregnant, how cool would it be if it could tell you even if you were further along?

I love this, what a great thing. It would be awesome if it could specify further and who knows they may very well come up with that.
