Recipe: Sweet Basil & Garlic Pasta Sauce {&Huge Pampered Chef Giveaway!}

I absolutely love kitchen tools. Big or small, manual, battery-powered or electric, I love to try out new products for the kitchen. So when Pampered Chef offered to send me a selection of their new Spring products, I couldn’t turn it down!

They sent me some amazing products & challenged me to make a recipe featuring at least one of the products. But there were so many items that were relevant to the way I cook that in coming up with my recipe, I actually used 5 of their products!

I’ve been experimenting with different pasta sauces lately, and I’ve loved the ones I’ve made, but it really had me missing my Mom’s homemade sauce. I still wanted to make something a little different though, so I started with her recipe and added in some extra herbs & spices for a bit more kick.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. whole wheat pasta
  • 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 28 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 8 oz. water
  • Salad dressing: Red Wine Vinaigrette or Italian
  • Garlic Powder, 2 tbsp {divided}
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Pampered Chef Sweet Basil Rub
  • 1/2 tbsp Italian Seasonings
  • 4 tbsp grated Parmesan {or to taste}
  • 4 green onions

Directions:

  1. Coat the bottom of a medium saucepan with the dressing of choice. Heat on medium until bubbling, about 3 minutes.
  2. Add 1 tbsp. garlic powder and stir.
  3. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water and stir well.
  4. Add Sweet Basil Rub, Italian Seasonings and remaining 1 tbsp Garlic Powder. Stir.
  5. Cover pan with tight-fitting lid and simmer for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. In the meantime, cook pasta. To prevent boil-over, use The Pampered Chef’s Boil Over No More.
  7. Use The Pampered Chef’s Garlic Smash & Paste to easily remove the peels of the garlic cloves & to make garlic paste.
  8. When the sauce has been simmering for 25 minutes, carefully remove lid and add garlic paste and grated parmesan. Stir well, remove from heat &let; cool for a few minutes before serving.
  9. Top your pasta with the sauce and garnish with green onions that have been nipped with the Pampered Chef Bean Slicer.

I also made garlic bread to go along with the meal using Pampered Chef Scoop & Spread- it was easy to scoop the butter spread, mix it, and spread it onto the bread all with the same tool.

As you can see, Pampered Chef has a lot of tools that help make cooking easier- and more fun!

  39. Love Pampered Chef. My faves include the Mix N’ Chop which also doubles as my 3 year old sons sword, the garlic press the Quick Stir Pitcher, Food Chopper, ALL of the Forged Cutlery pieces, the Micro-Cooker, Rice Cooker and my Stoneware pieces. Awesome giveaway!

  40. The Deep Covered Baker is my most used Pampered Chef Item. Also, if you add the Pampered Chef Herbs De Provence to your Spaghetti Sauce, it gives it a little something extra and unexpected.

  75. I would most love the boil over no more! I can’t tell you how many times I have had the pot boil over because I’ve had to step away from the stove for a minute!! Love this item!
