Double Chocolate  Chip Blondies

A sweet treat you'll love

One of my family's favorite treats to get at coffee shops has always been blondies, but they’re so easy to make at home that we’ve begun doing that as well! Since I made my own I was even able to add DOUBLE the chocolate chips!

Ingredients

– ¾ cup butter (approx. 1 ½ sticks), melted – 1 cup brown sugar, packed – 1 large egg – 1 tsp vanilla – 1 tsp baking powder – ½ tsp baking soda – ¼ tsp salt – 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips – 1/3 cup white chocolate chips

HOW ARE BLONDIES DIFFERENT THAN BROWNIES? Blondies are very similar in texture to brownies, but they are made with a few ingredient swaps like vanilla instead of cocoa and a different kind of sugar.

ARE BLONDIES BROWNIES OR COOKIES? Technically they're entirely their own thing, but if you really want to categorize them they're definitely closer to brownies.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE VEGAN BLONDIES? With so many great substitutions available at even regular grocery stores, it's never been easier to make your baked goods vegan. Just swap the butter, egg and chocolate chips for alternatives- see blog post for more info!

This recipe is fairly simple to make even for beginning bakers, and the reward for the work is definitely sweet!
