Thank you Krazy Glue for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.
We love doing crafts, especially for the holidays, but I’m not particularly that skilled. I also don’t have a lot of extra time this time of year- between baking, shopping, wrapping, and all of our traditions, I don’t have time for many big projects. So when Shane asked me to make something with him, I knew I wanted to make something easy and quick- and with supplies we already had around the house.
I got the idea when I uncovered a bottle brush Christmas tree that I picked up in the dollar section last year. I have a bit of a problem with collecting jars, so I decided to make a super simple snowglobe!
One of the most important supplies was Krazy Glue- my go-to for many of my craft projects. A single drop of Krazy Glue is crazy strong and can hold up to 2,000- and it dries in 30 seconds. That made it the perfect tool for this job- I didn’t have to wait a long time for it to dry and since I used the Krazy Glue Craft Brush-On, it made it easy to put the glue exactly where I wanted it. It made this simple snowglobe even easier!
Supplies:
Glass jar with lid
Krazy Glue
Small Christmas decorations*
White glitter
Silver glitter
Water
*Check the dollar section at the store! We love our tree but I’ve also seen some forest animals and things like miniature presents.
Directions:
- If the jar is two separate parts, add a layer of Krazy Glue to keep the water in.
- Glue your decorations to the inner part of the lid. Apply glue where desired, add a decoration, and hold for 30 seconds.
- Once all decorations are in place, add a thin layer of glue to the entire lid.
- Over a large surface {because glitter tends to make a mess}, add a layer of white glitter to the entire area you just glued to make it look like there’s snow on the ground! Allow to dry for 30 seconds.
- Fill jar just about all the way up to the top- leaving just ¼ inch or so from the absolute top for water displacement. Add silver glitter to your liking! We used 1 tbsp of glitter and it was perfect, but we used extra fine glitter so if yours is thicker you may need a little more.
- When your jar is perfectly glittered, put the lid on, turn it upside down, and shake it up!
Snowglobes have been around for a long time, but being able to make your own is so fun. Shane loved being able to pick where the tree went and helping with the glitter. I loved that we were able to make a decoration that is meaningful to us in just a few minutes- and without spending a dime! We already had everything we needed {especially the Krazy Glue, because I use that on everything already} and now we have a pretty decoration that we were able to use as a centerpiece for breakfast on Christmas morning.
If you have a craft- Christmas or otherwise- that you’ve been wanting to do, there’s still time! Since Krazy Glue only takes 30 seconds to adhere and works on all kinds of materials, you still have time to put that craft together for the holidays and beyond.
How will you get crazy with Krazy Glue?
