Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and our house is already decked out! I live in a house full of boys so this time of year is really the only chance I have to add some pink and hearts all over the place. This weekend we’re going to make a brand new decoration- and the whole family is getting involved!
This idea from Family Fun Magazine gets everyone together to create one beautiful piece of art that is colorful, fun, and a great way to preserve tiny fingerprints! It would also make a great Valentine’s Day gift for a Grandparent.
Fingerprint Heart Art Print
This family-created artwork makes a colorful memento of tiny fingerprints. Lightly pencil a heart onto a large piece of watercolor or other sturdy white paper. Lightly trace a guideline or two below your drawing, then write each family member’s name along it with a marker. Let each family member choose a stamp-pad color and make scattered fingerprints inside the shape, as well as one just above their name. Then just frame your new artwork! {Get everything you need to make this craft: Watercolor Paper, markers, colored stamp pads}
I’m so excited to make this with the kids- it’s so cute and will be a fun addition to our Valentine’s Day decor, and one day when they’re bigger than me, I’ll get to look back at the tiny fingerprints and remember these days.
