Just about everyone loves pizza- in fact, Americans eat about 350 slices of pizza per second. That’s why it’s a terrific choice when you’re trying to pick foods that all the guests at a party will enjoy- especially if you get a variety of toppings.
If you’re looking for a great appetizer for a football party, these Mini Pizza Bites are perfect! When you make them in the Wilton Perfect Results Mega Mini Muffin Pan, you’ll get 48 perfectly sized pizza bites with each batch. Not only that, but you’ll get evenly baked bites so that you’ll have less waste and more food to feed a hungry crowd! With so many pizza bites, you really have a lot of room to play around with toppings, too, making sure that there’s truly something for everyone. Here’s how to make them:
Ingredients:
3 cans refrigerated pizza dough
Pizza sauce
Finely shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings as desired- we went with sliced olives, sliced mushrooms, pepperoni {chopped}, and pineapple chunks
Optional: Pesto
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll out your pizza dough on a clean surface. Using the top of a clean glass, cut out circles in your dough.
2. Immediately place in the Wilton Perfect Results Mega Mini Muffin Pan {do this as you go- as the dough warms up, it can become misshapen}. You do not have to lay these down perfectly- just make sure the bottom is totally covered and just drape the dough over the edges as shown. Continue until all 48 cavities are filled!
{Tip: There will be some excess dough from between the cut-outs- you can definitely try to re-roll the dough and use it but I couldn’t quite get my dough thin enough so I ended up using that extra dough to make some breadsticks!}
3. Spoon pizza sauce into each cup, filling to about ¾ full. {If using pesto, use it instead of the pizza sauce.} This is a great step for the kids to help with!
4. Top with finely shredded mozzarella. Add toppings as desired.
5. Bake for 10-15 minutes, checking often to be sure they don’t burn. The dough will rise quite a bit during baking but will settle once cooled for a few minutes in the pan. Enjoy!
Since every party at our house includes a mixture of very picky eaters, very adventurous eaters, and my kids who fall somewhere in between on any given day, I love recipes that let me personalize the food for each person’s tastes. You could really mix these up even more and add whatever toppings you’d like- just make sure if you’re using meat you cook it before you add it to the pizza bites!
