One of my favorite things about the holidays is giving gifts. I love to get my kids the things I’ve had to say no to all year, I give my husband something he wouldn’t buy himself, and I give gifts to everyone I can, from our families to our friends and of course, teachers. One of my favorite things to do is to try to find gifts that are as unique as the recipients. When possible, I like to get something that reminds me of a specific person, rather than just something I thought was cute while I was buying groceries.
One of the easiest ways to do that is to buy handmade. I love buying homemade goods for the holidays because your gifts won’t just be something that your recipient would have just purchased for themselves, and it also supports small businesses. It’s a total win-win! That said, I often put off shopping until a little later in the game- which is hard to do when you’re buying handmade. Or at least, it used to be- until I discovered Amazon Handmade!
Amazon Handmade makes holiday shopping so convenient! I am able to search for all kinds of handmade goods from artisans all over the world, but many of the items include free Prime shipping, so it’s okay if I’m ordering it a week or two before Christmas.
I gave Amazon Handmade a try a couple of weeks ago and I was able to search through thousands of gifts and even look through all the different items each seller sold when I found shops I really loved, and it was like shopping in a local boutique but while in my jammies. I purchased two gifts to kick off my holiday shopping- one for my pup {and she got her gift early since she has no concept of when Christmas is} and another for a dear friend.
First up, this adorable Red Buffalo Check Dog Collar was handmade and sewn by a woman in Ohio who makes a wide variety of dog and cat collars. I am obsessed with all things Buffalo Check- all year round but especially during the holidays- so I knew I had to get this for Bella Notte! I ordered this and received it just a few days later, and I am so, so happy with it. The quality is better than any dog collar I’ve purchased in stores and Bella looks so festive in it!
Next up, I got a really sweet coffee cozy for my friend who needed a pick-me-up. I got a reusable cup and a coffee gift card and to make it more personalized to her, added this fun cozy that she can use every time she needs a warm cup of coffee. The shop that made it crochets each cozy and the design is machine embroidered directly onto the cozy so it doesn’t fall off like a patch could. This cozy came from North Carolina and shipped super quick! The shop also had a variety of colors and lots of great designs, including some fun pop culture cozies. I thought this one was perfect for my friend though because she loves her kiddos fiercely and Mama Bear describes her perfectly!
Whoever is on your shopping list this holiday season, there’s sure to be a gift for them on Amazon Handmade! You can find things like personalized jewelry, beautiful decor, and much more from artisans living all over the world- or maybe even in your own backyard.
