While I’ve had pretty good skin since my late teens, there’s one thing I always struggle with- dryness. Between not drinking enough water and living in the desert, my skin always struggles with dry patches and just a general dullness due to being dehydrated. You’d think that would make me take extra effort to use moisturizer, and you’d be right- in the evenings. In the mornings, I never put moisturizer on unless it was for testing purposes.
Which is how I ended up falling in love with Olay Whips.
When Olay suggested that I use the new Olay Whips Luminous in the mornings, I gave it a try- expecting the worst. I thought it would act like most moisturizers do on my skin and make it incredibly sticky and shiny, and that it would take twenty minutes to soak in enough for me to do my makeup. I am not a morning person, so I wake up with just enough time to get Shane to his line right as the bell is ringing- I definitely don’t have time to sit around and wait for my moisturizer to dry! So the first day I used Olay Whips, I tried it on a weekend so that I could give it all the time it needed to do it’s thing. And it didn’t actually need any time!
Not only did the Olay Whips Luminous not look sticky on my skin, but it absorbed immediately, went on matte, and even felt silky to the touch. It acted not only as a moisturizer but as a primer, too, and my powder foundation went on smoother than ever. It even had a light and very pleasant scent that I got a whiff of every once in a while- I’m not used to my face smelling like anything and it was making me smile all day!
Now, I fell in love at application, but the true test of a moisturizer is how your skin feels throughout the day, right? I noticed that my skin was less shiny than it usually is mid-day and even in the evening- I was reapplying my powder foundation only to areas where the makeup had been rubbed off, like where I’d laid against the couch pillows or where I’d wiped my mouth after eating something. It kept shine at bay because it has a unique formula that can actually absorb oils in your skin throughout the day!
There are actually three different varieties of Olay Whips now in stores! I tried- and loved- the Luminous kind, but there are also Regenerist and Total Effects versions, too. Regenerist is powerful against wrinkles without being heavy, and Total Effects nourishes your skin without the weight of a heavy moisturizer. The Luminous one that I tried is geared toward lasting radiance without shine, and it helps to even skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores. These are all things that I wanted in one product- and I actually saw all of these results in this product- it was like finding a unicorn!
You can find Olay Whips at your local Ulta store and online here! Go pick up the one that has what you’ve been looking for- and be sure to let me know if it’s your unicorn moisturizer, too!
