I don’t know if it’s the holiday excitement or the change in routine, but Shane had a couple of rough days last week. Nothing particularly bad happened, he just came home from school unlike himself. He was tired, he was cranky, and he wanted nothing to do with any of us.
Until I gave him an early Christmas gift- Just Dance 2016!
We’ve been playing Just Dance as a family for years and each time a new one comes out, we pick it up. It’s so much fun trying out new songs and learning new routines. The best part about it though? It can help us bust through a bad mood in minutes- no matter whose bad mood it is.
Just Dance 2016 is one of those games that the whole family can play. Shane takes it really seriously and always tries to follow the moves exactly, constantly trying to beat his high score. I make my best attempts, but I’m just not a fast learner- however, once I find a favorite song and do it a few dozen times, I can nail it. Justin isn’t normally a big dancer, but when the rest of us are having a dance party in the living room, he just can’t resist. And Zac, being not quite two years old, copies whatever the rest of us are doing- which ends up looking hilarious and making all of us laugh.
Dancing really is the best medicine and I’m so excited to have another Just Dance game to explore!
While Shane loves dancing to the songs he hears on the radio {“Uptown Funk” especially!}, this version of the game includes a lot of quirky and older songs like “Copacabana”, “You’re the One that I Want” from Grease, and even the William Tell Overture! I think I have the most fun with those songs since I’ve known them for so long. Shane’s favorite was the “Balkan Blast Remix” since it had a super cool Angry Birds dance team!
If you have an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Wii U, you can use the coolest new feature- the Just Dance Controller App! With the app, you can use your smartphone to track your moves and navigate through the game. You don’t even have to have an added camera to play! We only have the Xbox 360 right now but this is definitely making me want an upgrade!
If you use dance as medicine in your home {or just know someone who would get a kick out of this game}, be sure to check it out! It’s available now and would make a great holiday present!

I can see my grandkids dancing all around the living room with Just Dance! What a great family gift idea this would make. I’m smiling while looking at the photos of your cuties!

This is such a fun game, and I love that it gets kids (and adults) up and moving. We play it at all of our family get togethers. I need to pick up the version.

I have never played this, but I think that the girls would love to have a family game time that let them play this with the grown ups too! They do love to laugh when my husband shows just how coordinated he happens to be! Looks like fun for everyone 🙂

This sounds like a great game! I love that the kids can be active while playing this, rather than just sitting down and doing typical video games! I’d love to check this out when my kids get a bit older.

This looks like amazing fun for the kids and even some adult. I will have to share this with my sister and niece who have little ones who love to dance. Great way to exercise for all.

This might be a great option for my daughter- I was hemming and hawing over a karaoke machine, but this sounds more age-appropriate
PS – I LOVED that cute little duck beak on your little one! My goodness, way to steal the picture! LOL
