Shane is so excited for Halloween! Every day he’s been asking to do something related to the spookiest day of the year. We aren’t big on the actually scary stuff here, though- we take the not-so-scary Halloween approach. Since Disneyland hosts Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween at the park every year, it seemed only fitting that we celebrate our mutual love of a toned down {but still fun} Halloween by honoring our Main Mouse with some Mickey Ear Witch Hat Cookies!
These cookies are made from some of my favorites- and they’re even better combined! Check out this easy how-to:
Mickey Mouse Ear Witch Hat Cookies
What You Need:
– Oreo Cookies {I used Mint Oreo Thins}
– M&M’s Candies
– Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses {I used Dark}
– Ziploc Sandwich Bag
– Sharp Knife
Directions:
1. Unwrap two chocolate kisses and place them in a small microwave safe bowl
2. Microwave on high for 30 seconds or until just melted enough to be stirred with the tip of a knife.
3. Turn a sandwich bag inside out over your hand and scoop up the chocolate.
4. Turn the bag right side in and press the chocolate mixture into one corner of the bag.
5. With a sharp knife, cut the corner of the sandwich bag off so that you have a tiny hole from which you can pipe the chocolate.
6. Unwrap a Hershey’s Kiss and lay it on its side on a cutting board or plate.
7. Place two M&M’s candies on either side of the Hershey’s Kiss to for the ears.
8. Pipe two small dabs of chocolate in between the Kiss and the M&M’s. The melted chocolate will act like a glue to hold the M&M ears onto the Hershey’s Kiss.
9. Repeat this process for as many hats as you need.
10. Place the cutting board or plate into the freezer to set the chocolate.
11. Once your hat tops have set, pipe a small dab of chocolate onto the top of an Oreo cookie.
12. Affix your hat top onto your hat’s Oreo cookie brim.
13. Repeat!
These treats would be great for a Halloween party or just for a snack to enjoy while waiting to trick or treat!
Do you celebrate a super spooky or not-so-scary Halloween?
