Now that Shane knows all of his letter sounds and has moved on to sight words, he’s becoming more & more interested in reading. He can sit for as long as I’ll let him & either try to figure out the story himself {he can’t read, but he uses the pictures} or listen to a story. He particularly likes magazines!
For kids who are into reading {and really, even for those who aren’t} Sports Illustrated Kids makes a great gift. As a kid, I remember how special it was to get my own mail every month, and Shane enjoys the same thing with his subscription {as well as a few more that he has}. Even reluctant sports fans will enjoy learning about their favorite players and sports and there are tons of pictures to make it even more entertaining. Every issue has a pull-out poster, sports cards, games, puzzles and sports trivia so there’s something for everyone!
Sports Illustrated Kids is the perfect holiday gift because:
– It’s the perfect stocking stuffer
– It promotes reading to children who are reluctant readers
– Each issue is full of exciting stories, photos and games- the perfect distraction for holiday travel
– It is delivered straight to your door
– No gift wrapping required
– It’s the gift that keeps on giving the whole year through
Right now, Sports Illustrated Kids is offering a great special on subscriptions- buy one subscription {including 12 issues in print and on tablet} for $19.95 &you can buy another gift of 12 issues for only $5! It’s a great way to save while giving all the sports fans in your life something they’ll use for more than five minutes- it’ll last the whole year! To take advantage of the offer, you can subscribe online.
