Cell phone today are amazing. I love that they allow me to capture memories that I otherwise may have forgotten, whether that’s in the form of a quick photo I was able to take because my phone was already in my pocket or whether it’s because of some of the amazing memory preserving apps on the market. Below is a quick list of some of my favorite apps for capturing, viewing, and sharing memories.
Shutterfly: I love making photo books with Shutterfly- it’s like having a scrapbook but without the hours & hours it takes to make them. In fact, we just had one made to use as our guest book for the wedding! It’s even easier to order photo gifts {including photo books, calendars, mugs, prints & more} by using your iPhone- you can even use your Facebook & Instagram photos in addition to your Shutterfly & iPhone photos. {Price: Free. Download it here.}
Baby Book Plus: While I admittingly haven’t used this app since I don’t actually have a baby, I so wish it would have been around when I did. I am like many other parents- I bought a baby book for Shane, but by the time I remembered to fill anything out I had already forgotten dates & information. Not only can you record these milestones as they occur, but you can also add photos to your memories and even keep track of vaccinations while you’re still at the doctor’s office. {Price: $2.99. Download it here.}
Instagram: I’m sure you already know what Instagram is, but it bares mention on this list. In addition to keeping up with the world in real-time, it’s a great way for friends & family to keep up on what’s going on with your kiddos, even when you forget to send them photos. {Like, ever. Sorry, guys.} It’s a great way to keep people updated either in real time or all-at-once if they only check it occasionally.{Price: Free. Download it here.}
YesVideo: Last month, I shared my experience with YesVideo, when they digitized one of my home movies from when I was a kid. I loved it- it was easy & convenient, very affordable, and best of all, allowed me to view & share some great memories. YesVideo is now making it even easier to view & share those memories with the YesVideo iPhone app! With the new app, you can track the status of orders in progress, watch your transferred videos, and share your videos with friends & family- all right from your phone. {Price: Free. Download it here.}
So whether you’re trying to remember every detail of your new baby’s life or reminiscing on memories from your own childhood, there’s an app for that!
What are your favorite memory-related apps?
