Since this weekend was a three-day weekend & Hubby had some extra time-off, we headed out to the Natural History Museum. We were a little nervous about how it would go since Shane fell asleep on the way there & we had to wake him up, but he did really well except that he was too fascinated to sit in the stroller so we had to alternate holding him {okay, Hubby had to hold him}. We finally had to put him down at the end but that resulted in me having to chase him across the museum &so we had to skip the gift shop. Lame. But for the most part it was a lot of fun!
So many fun things to look at!
I don’t remember taking this picture & I’m pretty sure Hubby did it to freak me out. Not cool, brah.
The desert habitat exhibit reminded me how incredibly terrifying my own backyard is: tarantulas, scorpions, black widows, rattlesnakes, mountain lions, coyotes… This is why I’m SO not an outdoor person.
After seeing the big dinosaurs {Shane LOVED when the T-Rex growled} he couldn’t wait to pet the dinosaur in the kids’ part! I told him to give it a hug but he ended up making out with it for awhile.
They had a cool submarine that had all kinds of buttons you could push- Shane’s favorite thing to do!
Daddy was watching us play in the submarine from the outside, until Shane literally grabbed him by the hand and said, “Plllleassseee?” until he had no choice but to join us.
This was a fun aquarium, but that was totally NOT Nemo- he didn’t have a gimpy fin!
Shane got to be an archeologist and used a paintbrush to uncover fossils. Then, he used it to dump sand on the floor. Oops.

I love that place! But I don’t remember that part, there was too much to cover in one afternoon. Hopefully someday we will be able to go back and visit.
