I had made the goods for Easter, which we celebrated on Saturday with my in-laws. My sister in law & her boyfriend were in town but were leaving Sunday morning so we moved our holiday up a day. That was fine with me- it meant it was one day sooner that I could get New Moon on Blu Ray in my basket! Score.
Shane wasn’t feeling the Easter thing and about two seconds after we walked up to his basket, he threw a hissy fit. He was just having one of those days where he didn’t feel good and no one-myself included- knew what was wrong. So, I’m lacking Easter pictures because he spent most of the day sleeping and pouting.
However, when we got home on Saturday night around midnight, he did the most unexpected thing:
He said his first word!!!!!!!!!
Now, everyone keeps asking if I’m jealous that he said “dada” first:
NOT EVEN A LITTLE.
See, Hubby misses everything because he works upwards of 60 hours a week. I wanted him to have this one little victory- so everytime I encouraged Shane to say familiar words (“Say… binky! Say… doggie! Say…. daddy!”), I repeated the Daddy one about three times as much as any of the other words. So as a result, “dada” was his first word- which made Hubby happy and made me proud that my hard work had paid off.
He’s already trying to say “mama”… he has been crawling around saying “Mmmm….” but can’t seem to figure out how to add the “ah”. Soon enough!
Sunday we had a mortgage broker come to our house to sign paperwork preapproving us for a house! With any luck, we’ll be homeowners by the end of the month! We just have to find a house first.
After that we had a night-in date night: we ordered pizza and watched Night at the Museum 2. It was a great Easter!
Monday was exhausting. Shane, my mother in law and I went to check out eight- EIGHT- houses in two hours. It was super windy and that didn’t make it any easier to tote Shane in and out of each house and back into the car. I took today off but I have more homes to look at tomorrow. Le sigh.
Today I was just playing catch up on all the stuff I’ve been neglecting thanks to my busy schedule. It’s 11pm and I’m drinking a coffee so I can stay up and get some stuff done.
Oh, and by the way, don’t miss my 100th post- it’ll be the one after tomorrow’s Wordless Wednesday! There’s going to be a giveaway to celebrate- you won’t wanna miss this one!
