One Stop Online Shopping at Sears.com! #MoreatSears

I like shopping efficiently. I don’t like to go to multiple stores for things, so if I need items that I can’t find at the store I’m already going to I either just order them online or wait until I need enough items from that store to justify going. I just don’t like using the extra gas, taking extra time and worst of all, worrying about if the next stop will push Shane over the edge of boredom into tantrum territory.

When possible, I prefer to shop at stores that have it all. Sears is one of those stores- they have everything from cute clothes to home goods, kitchen towels to electronics. &Even though they have a lot in their stores, they have even more online at Sears.com. That’s because Sears makes products from all over the internet available in one place- saving you time and multiple shipping costs. They literally have millions of items- so whatever you need, there’s a good chance that they have it!

5 Tips for Safe Holiday Shopping from #LifeLock!

Tomorrow is December 1st, which means it’s really crunch time to get those holiday presents! I have managed to get a few, but my list is still pretty long. I love shopping, both online & in person, but I get nervous about shopping in person this time of year. Amongst the giant crowds, there may be people trying to steal: whether it be presents, cash, or your identity.

LifeLock has some great tips for staying safe this month while you’re doing your holiday shopping!

1. If you feel threatened in the parking lot, go back into the store & find others to help you get to your car. Many people think that getting to their car makes them safe, but a window can be busted very easily.

2. You’ve all seen him: that bell-ringing Santa you can find outside just about any store this time of year. But what about others who are soliciting donations? While sometimes they are legit, the majority of them are scammers. If you want to donate, do so, but not through these people. Especially because often, those working on the street have accomplices.

3. The buddy system is not just for field trips! The chance of being a victim of theft drops 90% when you’re in a group of three or more people.

4. Provided you spend responsibly, it’s actually much safer to use your credit card for holiday shopping. Cash can not be recovered if stolen, and if a thief gets your debit card, they have easy access to your bank account & can wipe you out quickly. On the other hand, credit cards often limit consumer liability to $50.

5. Keep your wallet in your front pocket. Thieves can more easily access it in your back pocket, and you may end up removing your coat, leaving it even easier to access.

Now that you’re all safe shopping savvy, you can use your newfound knowledge & turn it into entries for the LifeLock for Life sweepstakes! Just head to LifeLock’s Facebook page & click on the LifeLock for Life tab to answer questions & get entered into the contest! There are weekly and monthly winners! {November’s grand prize is a $1,000 Visa Gift Card so be sure to enter today!} And as an added bonus, you’ll learn even more tips to keep you & your loved ones safe this holiday season.

Holiday Shopping Made Simple on eBay!

Christmas is less than a month away, which means I really need to start shopping! So far I’ve purchased a total of three presents- one for my brother, and two for my dog. Yeah.

I’ve just been so pressed for time that I’ve barely had a chance to shop around. This year more than ever I don’t have time to shop at several different places- and I’m definitely doing almost all of my shopping online. In fact, I’ll probably be doing a lot of it on eBay!

eBay is a great resource for buying gifts because not only are they convenient {one-stop shopping!} but they can save you a lot of money, too! &For those on your list who are hard to shop for, they have some hard-to-find items and collectibles that will be a perfect gift. They even have a mobile app which makes it easy to buy gifts anytime & anywhere. {I don’t know about you but if I get a great idea & don’t act on it right away, I tend to forget what it was.}

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking of gift ideas for the people on my list & while these are not all set in stone, they’re a good idea of the gifts my friends & family will be getting {so if you’re on my shopping list, stop reading!}. Here’s just a small sample of the gifts that I am loving this year:

the gift guide

I’m still working on my list but I’ve been getting some great ideas from eBay’s Holiday Gift Guide! You can search by recipient and by price so it makes gift giving a lot easier! DownEast Basics: My New Go-To Store!

Last month, I was invited to a blogger event at a clothing store called DownEast Basics. I admit that I hadn’t heard of them- they are new to Vegas {they just opened in late June} &I tend to do most of my shopping at Old Navy without really venturing out much. I’ve actually been looking for a few new places to shop though, so I decided to bring a friend with me & go check it out!

downeast basics

When I got there, I expected it to be literally basics- plain t-shirts, tank tops, etc. like at American Apparel. I was totally wrong! While they did have tons of basics {which I loved because I practically live in plain tank tops}, they also had dresses, tunics, tanks, shirts, skirts, jeans, everything- and they had them in tons of patterns, designs and of course, some basics. &Everything was very reasonably priced.

While they had clothing in lots of different styles, they definitely had a lot of girly stuff, which I love. We had so much fun putting together cute outfits! Even cuter was the clothing for little girls- obviously none of it does Shane any good, but my friend & I had fun looking at all the cute dresses for her daughters!

DownEast Basics is not just the store- it’s the company that makes most of the clothes. I say “most” because the Las Vegas location happens to also be a store that sells high-end brands for very, very low end prices. They sell designer jeans that usually cost almost $200- but they sell them for $75. And even better, they had a “Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off” sale, so the friend I took shopping with me was able to get two pairs of jeans- worth almost $400- for barely over $100.

Whether you’re looking to update your whole wardrobe for less or just pick up a cute bracelet to add to your outfit, be sure to check out DownEast Basics! They have lots of stores nationwide- check the store locator for one near you! {The locations in Vegas are Boca Park and Green Valley- the one I shopped at was the Boca Park one.}

This store is now permanently on my list of stores to check out when I need to find something cute to wear. I plan on getting a lot of my everyday stuff there, too since  they have high-quality items that are still really affordable. There’s really no reason not to shop there!

Have you ever been to DownEast Basics?

Note: I was given a gift card to spend at the event, as was the friend that I brought with me. All experiences are authentic & all opinions are my own.

The Benefits of Online Shopping

Woman Shopping Online

I remember when we had dial-up AOL, back when internet subscriptions were counted by minutes & the Hamster Dance was the COOLEST thing ever. &I remember the first Christmas that my Mom bought our toys online- she bought everything from one of the first sites {that I’m aware of} that had an “e-catalog” and I remember how excited I was every time the UPS delivery guy rang our doorbell & dropped off a box clearly marked eToys.com.

In the fifteen or so years since then, online shopping has changed dramatically. Amazon came into existence, and now almost everything ever created is available online. I love shopping, but I buy as much as I can online now rather than in the store-whether it be for clothes, toys, home goods, or even diapers. Here’s why:

1. You can see how the item you’re shopping for fits in with what you already have. I’ve been picking up items here & there to decorate my home, and there have been times that I fall in love with something online, but then look around the room that it would go in & realize it just doesn’t fit. If I was buying that item at the store, I couldn’t do that- I’d get it home, be disappointed, and have to bring it back.

2. You can save money. I’m already ahead because I’m not using gas money, and most of the time I am able to find a free shipping code for most sites. &It’s much easier to search for coupon codes online than it is to scour newspapers in the off chance that your store has a coupon! It can be as easy as going to Google, searching for a store & finding the best promotion code for your purchase.

3. It saves time. It’s so much faster to go online & click the mouse a few times than drive all the way down to the store, find what you’re looking for, check out & drive home. Add my two-year-old to the mix & shopping in person for one item can take hours.

4. You won’t be “that mom”. Your toddler can be screaming in the background & no one will stare at you. Well, except your screaming toddler.

5. There’s often no sales tax. This seems to be slowly changing, but a lot of websites don’t charge sales tax.

What’s your favorite part of shopping online?
