Our International Delight #IcedCoffee Coffee Klatch!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been exhausted lately. First December came with all the Holidays involved in that, and then I spent all of January sick. Add to that the fact that we’re renovating our garage & I have been SO tired. I needed a little pick-me-up, and I know my friends, who are all busy Moms, could probably use one, too. So last week we had a good old fashioned Coffee Klatch!

I like hot coffee, but I prefer iced. So when I found out about International Delight’s new Iced Coffee- which is already mixed & ready to pour- I was so excited! I got all three flavors {Original, Vanilla, and Mocha} & set a playdate with my friends. This is where I have to confess: I started out with two cartons of each flavor, but the earliest my friends could get together was a week later. By then, I actually drank an entire carton of the Vanilla flavor. Don’t judge me.

Anyway, it was a beautiful day out, so I packed up our cooler with ice & the iced coffee and headed to the park to meet our friends. Everyone brought a hodge podge of snacks so we had ourselves a mini picnic! Once all the little ones were on the playground, I started pouring the coffee.

Everyone loved it and was excited to try all the different flavors. Everyone agreed that the Original was good on its own but would be even better if we mixed in our favorite International Delight flavored coffee creamers &I definitely agree. Everyone liked the Vanilla & Mocha without doing anything to them.

Don’t worry- there’s no coffee in that sippy cup!

Six Moms were there in all, but one of them doesn’t drink coffee so there were five drinking the coffee. Of the five, two liked the Vanilla more, two liked the Mocha more, and one left early before I could ask what she liked. So it looks like a tie to me!

Between the five of us drinking the coffee, we drank almost a whole carton of each flavor. {Let’s just say we didn’t need naps that day!}

Be sure to check out my Google+ story to see where you can find these delicious iced coffees in a store near you!

Potty Training Tip: “Big Boy” Underwear! #LuvCookies #CBias

So now that Shane is almost 2 & a half and is showing some signs of readiness, we’ve begun the journey of potty training. While I was doing research to find out how to go about it, one tip kept popping up everywhere: to buy “big boy” underwear featuring his favorite characters, because he won’t want to, ya know, on them.

I tried this last week with the pack of underwear we had but after having him pee through 3 pairs within 2 hours, I realized it was going to take more than one pack of underwear. &Those aren’t cheap! So naturally I went to Cookie’s Kids to search for some character underwear at discount prices.

Cookie’s Kids is a website that features brand-name and in-style clothes for much less than retail price- think Ross or TJ Maxx but with a much wider selection, and often cheaper. They have clothes for everyone from infants to young adult, including school uniforms, regular clothes and even toys and accessories. And, of course, underwear! In fact, they had so many different kinds of underwear I had to let Shane choose since I was tempted to just get them all! They had Diego, Toy Story {which is the kind we already had… but paid twice as much for elsewhere}, Mickey Mouse, Sesame Street, Superheroes, Cars, Spongebob… the list goes on. Just for underwear! Shane ended up choosing the Mickey Mouse set, which is totally cute.

But of course, I get easily distracted- and what started as an online “shopping trip” for big boy underwear resulted in getting a pack of underwear, a pack of Toy Story socks {at $2.99, can you blame me?!}, a cute long sleeved t-shirt & 2 pairs of jeans. In my defense, Shane just spontaneously outgrew ALL of his 2T clothes, and even with the cost of shipping {which was a pretty hefty $12.50} I still spent less than $50!

Cookie’s Kids is a GREAT way to get cute, brand-new and in-style kid’s clothes for all ages. &While the shipping cost is high, there’s usually a coupon code floating around somewhere on the internet to make up for it or to get you free shipping {or automatically get free shipping when your purchase hits $99}. Even better- you can earn $10 for each friend you refer- AND give them $10 off their first purchase of $50 or more! {Click here to use my referral link & you and I will both get $10 to spend!}

Shane loves his new clothes!

So whether you’re trying to get your toddler potty trained or get a whole new Spring wardrobe, check out Cookie’s Kids! If you need more convincing or just want to check out the rest of my shopping experience, check out my G+ album!

Did you try the character underwear potty-training technique? Did it work?

My New Indoor Holiday Decor: The Reveal! #Searsrealcheer #CBias

So last week I told you about my trip to Sears for indoor Holiday decor and told you that this week I’d show you what I got & the results, so here you go! {Pardon the messy house- I have a 2 year old. ‘Nuff said.}

This Santa sits at our entryway, greeting everyone!

We have Holiday themed towels in every bathroom, and I’m even using one as a dish towel.

This huge candle makes the whole downstairs smell like Cranberry- my favorite Winter smell!

I added lights on the banister- this is easily Shane’s favorite decoration {besides the tree}!

A snowglobe- far away from toddler hands but still where it can be enjoyed all the time.

I got a few other things as well- apparently I had a reindeer theme going on!

-A reindeer cake plate with server {top left}
-A reindeer pillow {top right}
-A few pot holders {bottom left}
-4 Holiday Sippy Cups {bottom right}
-SEVERAL more hand towels- about 10 in all {not pictured}
-&Something secret that I can’t tell you because it’s a gift for someone who reads this!

All in all, I spent only $100 on everything! I bought everything with three weeks left until Christmas still, yet everything was already on a huge sale- and the prices had been very good to begin with, so the sales were even better!

Can you imagine what the sale prices are going to look like next week, when Christmas is over? I’m planning on a trip there to swoop up some goodies for next year!

Do you shop after-Christmas sales for the following year? What kinds of things do you buy ahead?

Spend $200, Get $20 Back with MasterCard This Season! #Heres2Mom

As I’ve said a lot lately, I still don’t have ALL of my Christmas shopping done. I know, I know- we’re less than a week a way at this point. But I still don’t know what to get some people! The stores are all completely insane at this point though, so I can tell you one thing: I’m doing the rest of my shopping online!

There are a few incentives to shopping online: you can avoid the crowds, items are less likely to be out of stock, and now you can get a $20 gift card when you spend $200 online before December 31, 2011!

I love the last one in particular because that means I’m instantly saving 10% on the gifts I have to get anyway, which is exciting to me. &It makes me feel special because MasterCard is recognizing all of the hard work we Moms do in preparation for the Holidays with this Here’s To Mom promotion!

If you want to shop smart &score a $20 gift card for shopping online, just follow the steps below:

1. Register your MasterCard at http://bit.ly/sOKpoP - this literally took me about a minute, if even that. &I’m not exaggerating.
2. Use your MasterCard to shop online between now & December 31, 2011: spend it all on one big purchase or divvy it up between several small orders- it doesn’t matter!
3. When you spend $200, you’ll get an email from MasterCard confirming your qualification, which will include instructions on how to get your MasterCard gift card or other gifts.

That’s it! &You can shop at any online store you want, so no matter how odd or hard to find the gifts you’re giving are, they’ll help reach your $200 total!

I’ve already gotten over halfway there by shopping on Amazon for Justin’s family, and I still have more gifts to get for Shane, Justin & my family so that gift card is well within my reach!

Do you still have any shopping left to do? Will you be doing it online or are you crazy enough to go to the store?

Ps. This promotion is only available in the US- sorry!

Shopping for Indoor Holiday Decorations at Sears! #Searsrealcheer #CBias

I know it’s only 9 days until Christmas, but I still haven’t fully decorated yet. Don’t get me wrong- two days after Thanksgiving I pulled out all the decorations we had & got them ready to display, and last weekend they all finally went up, along with the tree we bought two weekends ago. But our halls aren’t nearly as decked as I’d like- simply because we don’t have very many Christmas decorations! This is only our second Christmas in our house, and only our third Christmas not living with our parents, so we haven’t had a lot of time to accumulate all things Merry & bright. But a few days ago I headed to Sears to change that!

sears cheer tree site

First, I went online to the Sears Cheer Tree website for some inspiration- and I got it! There are comments, blog posts & photos from other bloggers & other people wanting to spread their love of Holiday decorating. Once I checked out that site and the Sears Holiday Shop pages, I headed to Sears to check out the goodies for myself & stock up on some fun new decor to add to what we have. Now, I won’t tell you what I bought- I’ll be showcasing everything next week. But in the meantime, you should really check out my Google+ story on Shane & I’s shopping trip to Sears!

Google Plus Story

If you’ve been putting off decorating for Christmas or, like me, just want to cover every last remaining inch of your house with Holiday cheer, Sears is the place to go! They have everything: pillows, bath towels, cups, snowglobes, collectible figures, wreaths, and a whole lot more. They even have fresh live trees, wreaths & greenery!

&If you’re shopping for a special ornament for this year for you or a loved one, check out their Platinum Shoppe, where you can find ornaments designed by Christopher Radko!

Be sure to check back next week to see how it all came together!
